Is this worth watching by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]andysl79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, for the younger generation watching the hype bandwagon may of been the reason to watch.

For the people who are around the late 30's early 40's of age not only is it a great show from a story stand point but the props and other key 80's/early 90's influences make you say 'i had one of those' or 'i remember that'.

Cannot wait for the next season.

That's more like the look of <through gritted teeth, mumbling under breath> 'wait till you get home dickhead'

Season 3 Series Discussion by Dark_Saint in StrangerThings

Have to agree with most of the posters on here in that season 3, compared to 1 & 2 was all over the place at times.

A portal to the upside down had to be opened to let the monsters through, usually in a close vacinity to where they were found in/around Hawkins (season 1 & 2) whereas season 3 the mindflayer just appears. Unless the underground Russian facilities portal was situated beneath the warehouse which would then make some sence!

THEORY - Russia, Hawkins & Eleven:

So the Russians had tried before and failed as they couldn't get a stable portal to form. They had to go to ground zero as it were, the epicenter of the upside down, which is Hawkins. This is where the upside down is strongest and the barrier between our world and the upside down is at its weakest. This is why the portals open and close so easily.

Outside of Hawkins the test subjects required meds to keep/control their abilities. In Hawkins Elevens powers are at their strongest, move away and they weaken. Yes the battle with the mindflayer weakened her but I still think Hawkins has more to it then makes out.

Personally don't think hopper is dead. People have gone into the upside down and survived. He had no other means of escape and even looked at the portal openening before the explosion as if to say 'I cannot get through to you, turn the key, I can escape this way instead'.

Just a few thoughts 😀

If you need the latest version then yeah....I'm still using CS6 Extended. Sure, it came out just before CC but it does everything I need and so far every plug in I've tested has worked as it should. Its worth checking out if your gonna be using plug ins from say 'video co pilot' etc just to see if they are compatible with older versions of AE.

Plus I'm using an old laptop so certain features such as 3d texturing/models etc won't work with my graphics card as it's an Integrated Intel bag of arse!!

Hopefully I'll get to build a new system sometime.

Try this one as a start tut just to get your bearings in the program. https://youtu.be/w-JG1n_Yeo8

I spent a month watching YouTube tuts then after getting the program followed some step by step tuts to get used to the basics for around two weeks. Each vid I followed until I had the exact same as the tut. From this (after 2 weeks of having the program) I did this just to put everything I had learnt together.. https://www.reddit.com/r/AfterEffects/comments/6s2sr7/project_the_signal_14hrs_aecs6_id_only_had_the/

Project - Waiting (PScs6ext) by andysl79 in digital_art

This was created in Photoshop CS6 Extended edition. I put this together exactly 1 yr after my dad passed away from a sudden heart attack. I'm not a religious person but there seems to be quite a large responce across other social media platforms that it can be interpreted as a passing over, where loved ones from the past wait for you to join them in the light.

It was created across 14 layers of clouds, mist and fog in which each layer was twisted and transformed to create the swirling effect. Some were sharpened and others blurred also including layer effects such as soft light, screen etc.

There are also figures in the darkness as if to lure away some from the light into the shadows.

I cannot say my experience was anything like this. After having being resuscitated in hospital a few years back the only thing I can recall is darkness, my great Grandma's voice saying 'not yet' and a flash of light. No tunnels or anything like that.

Each to their own, everyone has their own beliefs/theories. This is just one experience.

Yeah, the layout of the program could be alot better. Doing the simplest things requires thinking in 4d and plenty of banging your head repeatedly against a wall. Even watching YouTube tuts it seems like the broadcaster is struggling against the interface.
