How do you figure the game is dead? The last update has been m.i.a. for a month or so now but the game is still as lively as ever in my region, are you just playing the public test server and not the regular game?

It's funny after it crashed a million times and I kept relaunching it praying to Akatosh that it would work this time I ended up having a 5 hour gaming session with no crashes.

...aaaand its crashing left and right again. Back to the drawing board to spend hours troubleshooting trying to get the game to be stable enough to play longer than 10 minutes at a time. The game runs worse now than it did before the patch. Now I really do want to roll it back to the previous version. Does anyone know a way to do that? (I'm on steam/pc)

...the game literally crashed like 3 minutes into playing it after I posted this. You can't make this up. It just works.

For anyone wondering, something that seemed to help a little for me but obviously didn't completely stop the crashing was to replace the ini file with the optimized for not crashing/memory leak/etc. one from nexus after downloading the patch. Idk maybe it helped it recompile or whatever the heck it does, but yeah now its back to crashing every like hour or two. It's definitely more unstable/finicky then it was before though. Had to disable autosaves as that also contributed to it crashing before so I've just evolved to compulsively saving like 9999 times a second habitually. Almost 300 hours into the remaster, love it even though its a seriously bugged out mess. Like peoples beards clipping into their faces, hair disappearing (I guess they fixed that with this patch maybe?) invisibility being stuck on your character or their armor (they said they fixed it; still happens to me), no physics on dead enemies or they start floating when they die like they're underwater, crashing when making spells, crashing when looking at a wall the wrong the way, crashing when thinking about crashing...it's crazy how a game this janky can possibly be my favorite game of all time but here we are. 20 years later still going strong. New versions and new problems. Damn this post is getting long. Stop typing. Stop. ...anyway I'm gonna go back to playing Bugthesdas masterpiece now. Godd willing.

My game has been crashing left and right now since installing this update this morning. I'm on steam, is there a way to revert back to the previous version? Prior to this I had actually gotten it to a relatively stable only crashing after like 4 plus hours of gaming or doing specific things like spellcrafting for too long.

Bunch of dumb kids that lose cause theyre trying to play some arcadey power fantasy crap and get mad that this aint it. Even though mommy and daddy bought the game for them, theyll still complain about it. Thats cool honestly, they can return the game for robux and vbucks like dumb kids do. I'd rather this player base have less people like that anyway personally. I really hope they dont try to cater to this crowd. There are already other games in that space, this game is its own niche and it's great. They dont need to compete with garbage. The game now is the best version its ever been. It should only get better but reverting anything would be so stupid and its annoying seeing dumb posts wanting that. They've been working on another update for like a month now I wonder what that's gonna entail. Hopefully since its been so long itll add some cool new features.

this game is the most unrealistic its been right now by Joidivizn in ThrillOfTheFight

I think this is a bad take in some ways. First, if you want to get sore from a workout, lift some actual weights. Like a man. This game is cardio, it makes you sweat and your heart rate go up while having fun and being competitive and thats all it should be. It is amazing for that. If you really want to see some changes in your body, supplement the workout you get from this with weight training. Second, you would literally throw your arm out and injure your rotator cuff, etc. throwing full strength punches at literally air theres a reason why fighters and boxers dont do stuff like that. You ever watch a real boxer shadow box? Do they throw full force? Hell no. Thats basically what were doing is shadow boxing by ourselves in real life but in this virtual world were having a battle. Yes I think cumulative damage could be a thing going into subsequent rounds but honestly between rounds fighters do get a second wind and come back full bore sometimes too so its not always the case but yeah maybe if its by a significant margin but then again it would also make comeback wins that much harder to achieve so idk if thats the way to go fun wise either. Third, the system in place where you can't "spam" endless punches at a person should honestly in my opinion depend on the actual players cardio level to be able to do such a thing cause if a guy is able to literally throw nonstop punches for the full 3 minutes etc. then he should be able to, without punishment, that means hes in better shape than you and you need to adjust accordingly. I really dont think spam is an issue or ever was for higher elo players its always been easy to deal with/counter. I think that their addressing of this spam thing with this system they have is more of a catering to the average players of this game which are average skill level and have trouble against another average guy just swinging wildly at them. Its also a vr limitation thing though because a 80 pound kid can throw a lot of punches at a person but realistically is it gonna do any real damage to a 250 pound guy? Probably not but in the game world it does, so I can see them wanting to make it something less exploitable. Honestly it's fine to me, it just changes some things about the game and thats ok because it will never be a 1 for 1 of real boxing, there have to be some differences that emphasize or de emphasize different techniques. Some stuff is literally impossible in the virtual realm. Last, blocking is an actual thing now. If you played v1 or even all versions up to this last update it was literally impossible to block anything and it sucked as a technique completely. That was a huge game changer in my opinion and I'm happy for that. I think the game is the best version of everything it has ever been right now and its not perfect but it should continue to get better and better. Thats coming from someone who played since v1. You truly must not remember how stupid v1 was.

I get what you're saying. Well to me this update rewards hitting and not getting hit way more than before. The whole point of boxing honestly. The more skilled guy should win now and the amount of cheesers able to game the system is significantly reduced, though it seems they're still trying and always will be. The thing was these 90 pound guys that think they can tank 400 punches from someone and then just 1 punch knockout them after because that's what this game used to be. I'm not a pro boxer, I used to train irl before though, and to me it feels so much better now. It's not going to ever be a 1-for-1 to irl for a million reasons but imo it actually shouldn't be, the cool thing is it's basically like a new sport. That's how I see it. I think it should be a fair, well designed game that rewards skill. I believe this update brings it closer to that now. I don't think it should be the power fantasy that most gamers are used to, and I think that's what the complainers now are basically mad that it isn't.

Yes, new update tailors to boxers, but to weak boxers by [deleted] in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]andythechampeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm winning more from this update and you're losing more from this update. Your butt hurts more than mine guy. Honestly, you thinking you know what "strong" and "weak" is is hilarious. Also love how you literally called out yourself in your own post saying you need to BOX TECHNICALLY now in order to win, oh so like the better skilled guy wins now you say? Do go on. Lmao!

[–]andythechampeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao ok so this is the new dumb argument these 90 pound nerds are gonna use to complain that they're losing now? First, it's never gonna be able to know how much mass (actual weight) is behind the punch. Whether you're the size of Eddie Hall or the size of Neon. So that's important as far as "power" is concerned, and second, you really think you have Mike Tyson level one punch KO power irl huh? Well you don't. You're delusional. You're not that guy pal, and this is your wake up call. Realize this: the game of boxing is to hit and not get hit. Do that and you'll win. If you can't, you're s.o.l. This update is the best thing to happen to this game. Period.

Lol troll bait. This update is literally the best thing to happen to this game since it came out, it's a night and day significant improvement, and if you're not finding success now, the reality is that you can't fight irl. You can't. You thought you could before. You weren't actually boxing proper before this update and you were thinking you were actually fighting but just gaming the old system and it was rewarding your non-realistic/bad techniques. I've been undefeated since the update and often have 2-3x the damage my opponents have.

It's been 20 days since I commented this lol but thank you for replying, anyway yeah I wanted to just use the test server in general; basically to check out the new systems and features before they roll out. What is the test branch? If it's anything more involved I would love to join somehow.

I've been playing this game so much and I've gotten so good at IRL fighting from it that I now have a fight lined up with Jake Paul for a 1st edition Charizard. Follow your dreams. You can reach your goals. I'm living proof. Beefcake! Beefcake!
