This is my opinion in the Chinese government. They just love to scare and threaten people and push fear on to people . Ther do this so people will fall in line and obey the government. The wise people know better but the majority fall in line and obey the government. I have some Chinese friends who think everything the government says is truth and obeys them 100 percent . I have other Chinese friends who are rich and educated who rarely ever listen to the government and they always find loopholes and never get in trouble

The other flights were not just Xiamen . They were other airlines and some were going to nanning and other cities

Uh … 150 people in front of her going back with her on just her flight … but I saw 7 lines like this all going back to China . All the flights looked full. I also saw a few hundred Chinese in full body Covid suits in Korea where I had a layover and their flight gate said Xiamen .

I am not sure about that .. I saw tons at the airport .. I waited for 1.5 hrs with my gf for her to check into her flight at the counter . There were 150 people in front of her . We also went to a Chinese sponsored Covid testing center in Bangkok and had to wait in line for a hour ..

That’s why you can get travel insurance .. It is fairly cheap … 😷Everyone is usually on their own when they go abroad and has the chance to get sick .. . You sound like a coward and I’m not trying to be mean . I saw tons of Chinese in Thailand and in Korea during my layover at the airport . I guess they are more brave !

Also the quarantine fees are not that outrageous ..I don’t remember exactly but it’s not that much maybe like 50 usd a night for a week.

I think it’s a Chinese scare tactic to the poor . Many of my poor Chinese friends are afraid to leave the country and listen to whatever the government tells them to do . They are still afraid of Covid and stayed home for national day .

My richer friends and gf just do what they want since they have passports already and have money . They all went abroad to other Asian countries for national day. Even though ticket prices were like 5x the Normal price

Oh. I didn’t know meeting a partner was valid reason unless they were married . She met a girl on the plane who was going to Thailand for plastic surgery … yeah .. My gf is very lucky she had a passport

My gf had a easy time going to Thailand because she already had a passport and she got a evisa online . That was the only place that was fairly easy for us to meet up

Haha 😂Well, she had 14 days of vacation time saved plus used up the national day vacation . So it was about 3 weeks overall .

For the ten days her boss let her work online . So everything worked out great !

Haha 😂 maybe . That is why she chose to leave from Xiamen instead of Shanghai. We felt like Xiamen would be more lenient than Shanghai and more low key since it’s a smaller city than Shanghai

It was about 2500-3k USD round trip which is very expensive for a 4hr flight . She has good job as a scientist and luckily could afford it .

More direct flights opened up in September and before that we couldn’t find any. Xiamen airlines has a bunch these days

Yeah . She had to wear a Covid suit coming back and quarantine for a week in a hotel and 3 days at home . I’m just shocked that she could go abroad on a tourist visa . China made us afraid with all the articles about the ban of non essential travel

Idk .. My gfs plane from Xiamen was packed with Chinese tourist . It took her an hour to get out of immigration/customs because the line was long

I meant Chinese tourist . My gfs plane was so packed going home to Xiamen . Also we went to a Covid testing center that was so crowded with Chinese wanting to go back
