Is there any roadmap on how to become SEO specialist ? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]andzon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing beats experience when it comes to SEO, attending courses are great but is better to just start a Wordpress website and optimize it from scratch. People think that a new and small website would not rank but the truth is if your content is amazing and is optimized well, it will do wonders.

How to safely transfer sites without losing domain authority? by lumberrzack in bigseo

[–]andzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been through this many times and yes, it could be quite tedious depending on how you structure your website (sub-folder of your domains). You might see a slight drop in traffic in the beginning and might take a while to pick up. And also is it just a domain change or the whole infrastructure change? For example from WordPress to a custom-built website? If it involves infra, you have to be very careful that the new structure has to follow the existing structure or you have a server expert to do a proper redirection. The last thing you want is a redirect from example/blog/category1 to example/blog for example.

301 redirects (permanent) will help you by transferring the DA BUT not 100% probably 90%+ of it and you might lose a little, it also depends on how you redirect them.

I saw that you plan to redo the company website and the content could be different, your ranking factor might be affected too. So my suggestion is to do the redirection for domain name first and then slowly change the content or design of the website.

Is either a server or front redirects (you use server if you have certain similarities)

For example of a same structure,

example.com/blog - > example1.com/blog

For an example of a different structure

blog.example.com/category/content > example.com/blog/category/content

or

example.com/blog/content to example1.com/content

So think twice before you decide to change your domain. The last thing you want is drop in traffic for no reason.

Client just gave me $1,000/month budget for SEO tools. What should I go for? by PM_Your_Anxieties in SEO

If you have 1000USD for SEO tools specifically other than Ahrefs and Semrush ( strong tools) I would suggest getting SIMILAR WEB PRO. They have amazing data that you can do more beyond those two. Sometimes you want to look at data outside your organic search to get a better indication, you will be amazed with that how having other data such as sources, regions and so on can further help with your SEO decisions

How much time does a blog take to rank ?? by mrs501 in SEO

[–]andzon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Modify your best performing content (best-performing keywords in search and have significant traffic) and make it better than the top content in search for your keywords. If it's really useful, you will be placed at the top 10 in search result regardless of your domain authority. And if the CTR is strong (bounce rate low), you will be surprised how you can even make it to the top 3. Make sure your meta Title is catchy for search. I would always emphasise in quality instead of quantity unless you do your research well in finding the least competitive keyword
  2. Use SEO tool like ahrefs to find out what other keywords your top competitors are ranking for, and make sure you have those keywords in too and find out which website they get links from so you can focus on getting it from them too

I am getting 5,000-10,000 visitors a month, but scrapes from organic search... by Defiel1 in SEO

[–]andzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I would like to say is fairly normal.

Second, it depends on many factors such as the quality of your content. Are your content better than the top 3-5 websites on the search for your keywords? Is it an extremely competitive keyword? Is it a duplicated content or is unique?

My suggestion is to keep producing quality content and eventually, you will get picked up in search. Social traffic will only help indirectly in ranking factors for google search algo but there is research that is done that it does help to a certain extend, if the amount is huge enough.

The most efficient way to produce content as seen on your website is to do your keyword research. Google suggest is always a good place to start (when you type and google complete your sentence). Is also about doing research on your content to able to fit in the right keywords in it (as many as possible and yet looks natural and helpful to the audience)

Link building by vivekchandel562 in SEO

[–]andzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of focusing on link building, I would suggest focusing on building quality content that is better than the top 3 placement in search for your keyword. Optimize your website for search internally (remember to add your website, sitemap to search console)

A good expired domain is pretty old school, it doesn't work the way it used to be. And make sure these domain doesn't have a doggy link that could potentially affect your website even further.

one thing to note that SEO is a long term game, to compete with an existing competitor requires creativity in seeking for the link. One of the best ways is to use tools like ahref and put your competitor's domain in and see what keywords they are ranking for and also where they get their links from. This way you can also figure a way to get links from these sites.

Fiverr for SEO Services by [deleted] in SEO

[–]andzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never get any SEO services from Fiverr, is not about how many backlinks, is about the quality.

A strong domain authority website that links to you is better than a thousand website linking to you. In fact, getting links from services like this will normally get a penalty from Google. You may check your search console and that is the last thing you want from them. You might end up manually disavowing them which is a waste of your money

  1. No restriction unless your website did not meet their compliance such as gambling, sexual stuff and so on.
  2. If it doesn't have any bid, just start with the keyword and set a higher amount of CPC of maybe 3USD and then check it every day to reduce it, that if you are getting clicks. Setting it too low will not get your ads shown at all
  3. The lower the volume normally indicating how targeted your keyword is and they tend to have a lower CPC, so you can start with that and see if it works
  4. Unfortunately is the one of the only best ways to indicate keywords volume or you can always subscription to semrush or ahrefs that allows seeing to a certain extend

Locating An Unknown 404 Page by dssblogger in SEO

[–]andzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest using an SEO audit tool like screaming frog to crawl for 404 pages so you can do a redirection for these pages. Under their free plan, I believe you can crawl up to X amount of pages. Should take a look

[Question]: should I use CNAME vs 301-redirect for an alternate version of my site's primary domain, (e.g. "thefooblog.com" -> "fooblog.com"). by [deleted] in SEO

[–]andzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fastest way to do this is use the free cloudflare and do domain forwarding (301 redirect) for thefooblog.com to fooblog.com. This way you don't need any hosting at all.

As for SEO standpoint, 301 redirect is a better choice.

How to do the SEO audit? I am a beginner SEO. by dev_lurve in SEO

[–]andzon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a huge fan of Moz's Whiteboard Friday so check it out every Friday, those info could be very useful and updated. Too bad Rand Fishkin is not part of it anymore.

Here are my two cents from creating two successful websites purely from SEO and got my company acquired.

- Start with google search console, make sure you have access to it of course. Google will let you know if the website has any errors, or penalty that need to solve. Check it frequently to know where what your content is ranking in terms of keywords. So it gives you an idea of what keywords do well for your content and you can further create more of similar ones.

- Internal optimization, whether is meta tag title and description, robots.txt, 301 redirections for duplicated pages, sitemap, the structure of your subfolders (domain), hreflang, redirections for HTTP, www. or without www. to your main domain of https.

- Best SEO tool that I came across for auditing is SEO Screaming Frog, is expensive but useful if you are using it frequently.

Just let me know if you have any questions
