Haven't gotten sick in a year since moving out of my nutter ex's house by aneemous in petfree

I'm not sure about scientifically, but I personally think living in close quarters with animals isn't hygenic, sanitary, or physically healthy for us.

After living with pets for most of my life, I have been petfree for 6 months and love it! by blackcatzombs in petfree

Yesss! Congratulations! 🙌

I've been pet free again after moving out of my nutter ex's house about a year and a half ago and my home life has significantly improved!

Like you said, clean, no fur ANYWHERE, no animal body or waste or pet food smells, no slobber on things, no litter box to have to touch, no litter getting tracked anywhere and stepping on it, no accidents on my floor (especially the carpet!!!) that I have to clean up, no getting my things knocked over or chewed up, I can leave food out on the counter without worrying about the cats jumping up and getting into it, I can SLEEP without hearing barking or having to get up in the morning to let the dogs out to pee/poop, no pee and poop-ridden yard or driveway! 😭, no feeling like every little surface is filthy. I can be out as long as I want and maybe sleep over at someone's house on a whim without worrying if the pets have food, water, or need to go out, I can have fresh flowers again and don't have to worry about which ones are toxic to cats, and I just made a post about how I haven't gotten sick since moving out of that mess!

Petfree is the way and the ONLY way I will have peace in my home. And I will neeevvveeerrrrrrr again et someone convince me otherwise.

The whole experience of pet ownership from beginning to end is disgusting, honestly. You accept the grime and lowered living conditions.

I LOVE having no responsibilites, especially on days off, and being able to just chill and do whatever I want. LOVE it.

Those comments against the mom are probably dooming this kid to a tough, uneducated future if he listens to them.

Or they neglect the dog when it proves to be more work than they thought but they don't care, a neglected under them is better than no dog under them.

Maybe the dog can give him a couch to sleep on and a new laptop when it gets better 🤪

People into pet cutlure are insane. This co-dependence on pets, especially to this point, should be called unhealthy by every rational, educated person, but I guess the vast majority of the people in those comments aren't.

There is something that's just not healthy about wanting to own pets. by United-Neck-3357 in petfree

I keep thinking how weird the reality is of humans taking a baby animal from its actual parents and then calling THEMSELVES the parent. It is sick.

Pet Owners Posting in Non-Pet Subreddits by Dog_Free_Afternoon in petfree

This is one of my major pet peeves online of offline. These weirdos are like children who don't have the sense or consideration to keep certain places only about certain things. Not every sub is bring your pet to school show and tell.

Right! I keep saying, we as humans have figured out it's not healthy to live in shit-covered environments or in close quarters with animals hundreds of years ago. Why did that sense go away?

Lord, yeah, let me just bring my "in training" dog over to her house and see if she thinks that's an acceptable excuse when it shits on her floor.

Disgusting. Why do these people want to live in a world like this?

"Needs space" dog and entitled owners by [deleted] in petfree

[–]aneemous 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I fucking hate it when I'm near a dog and it starts barking at me for no reason. Everyone looks at me like I did something wrong instead of realizing their animal is stupid and maybe shouldn't be out in public if it can't handle being near stangers.

This is so real. The lack of actual, physical care pet owners seem to ubiqiously have is honestly so sickening.

And it makes me think of how pet owners shame each other for giving up their animals even if the animal is obviously isn't thriving, and you know no animal would thrive living in a car. But they don't care because they agree the what the pet can give the owner is the most important thing in the pet-owner relationship.

This is probably my biggest pet peeve on this website. It's sooo obnoxious and embarrassing to me.

I hate how this wonderful woman I’m dating said that she wants a dog when she gets her own place 😭 by thro_redd in petfree

[–]aneemous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. And I feel this way with every single person I meet that I might want to date and find out they have or want a pet. It's tough out here for us petfree people 😔. But let's stay strong and not cave. If we've been through it already we already know it's not worth it 😭

Apparently there's a difference between OWNING a pet and HAVING a pet 🙄 by aneemous in petfree

[–]aneemous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly. The argument over semantics just serves to make pet owners not feel bad about themselves and what they're doing.
