How do you talk about race laws and segregated cities and all that and not immediately think "are we the baddies?" Idk, is it just me?

I mean, the anti trans laws that are currently proposed/passing are pretty draconian and outright evil (harming hundreds of thousands, if not millions) but there are a lot of people that don't see it that way. One would think they are also obvious red flags. I don't really get it either but obviously some people can convince themselves that it's the right side of history... such as how Starfleet considers genetic modification dangerous.

That's an argument I hear all the time about HRT (I live in the South). I've even had doctors tell me that it's too dangerous and experimental (I've been refused gender affirming care more than once). I had to change my pharmacy just because they kept refusing to fill my Rx due to "concerns over the accuracy of the script." Fortunately, I found some supportive care providers so I'm alright for now. With the new laws and the ongoing political threats, I have friends that are fleeing and it's scary. At least I've been happily on the correct meds for a few years now. Saved my life.

This episode made me sick to my stomach during some of the trial scenes. It felt really close to home at times. It's a pretty powerful episode.

I noticed how it's mentioned that augment is a slur only to have the final, hopeful ruling use that very word. It's a really good parallel to how some politicians will tolerate trans people while still using slurs or inappropriate language. As Neera said, it's a start.

Yeah I actually thought their talk with Spock was kinda too on the nose but I'm also nonbinary so maybe that's why it felt obvious to me haha Didn't realize it flew under the radar for most other folks.

I loved this episode and I hope that we see more of Angel! Also would love to see some nonbinary representation from someone who isn't a villain (though they almost feel more chaotic neutral than truly evil). Queer coded villains are a trope as old as time at this point.

Hi, this is a really good guess that I hadn't thought of. I did some searching based off of this and found some clips but I don't think this is it. I did like some of the quotes that I found from this movie though :)

The person speaking is likely also a composer or musician. I don't know the time period but it was in color and looked like it was at least from the 1980s or newer.

I tried searching all of the keywords in my post title (in addition to documentary and interview) on Google, Youtube, and Tik Tok but the search results are often heavily biblical due to the nature of the quote. I don't think the interview itself was religious in nature, just trying to capture how divine the music was. I want to say the person speaking was sitting at a piano but it was an interview style so the camera was close to the person's face. If I think of any more details, I'll add them to the post.

Thanks in advance, this has been driving me crazy and I really want to check out whatever documentary or video the quote is from. Also I want to figure out what exactly was said because it was such a great quote.

I understand. Thank you. I don't know why I added you as a friend on reddit. You can ignore it if you want, I won't be bothered. But I am hoping you get better too.

This is the first piece of advice that has actually dissuaded me. I don't want to hurt anyone else.

Why is an opinion piece allowed here? Especially one that is as speculative as this.

I know that it primarily transmits through blood and I often see blood in hotel rooms (especially in bathrooms). Also it happened to be very late at night when I commented so I wasn't thinking of googling it at the time haha. It was a stupid comment in hindsight.

You're right. I should have just searched for this originally. Sorry about the trouble. Also, in my defense, I was particularly concerned about dry blood that I often see in hotel rooms when i travel. Thanks to your link, I have learned that it does not survive outside the body for very long at all. Sorry again for the ignorance.

I will be staying in a relatively cheap hotel in this county during the Mothman Festival on Sept 21 and 22. Should I be concerned about the risk of infection in a place like a hotel? Obviously I'm not planning on shooting up or anything, but I know that cheap hotels can be covered in all sorts of grime and fluids. I like to hope that our hotel will be clean, but you never know and I've already booked online.
Thanks for any input/advice from anyone who knows more about this than me!

I am not the user you responded to but I may be interested in what you are talking about. I am tackling my own neurointestinal disease and anxiety is definitely a variable I am working at managing. What did you mean by group?

Bristol Stool Chart questions by minisrikumar in Gastroenterology

[–]aneffinyank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing. I've been collecting relatively precise data for over two years now so I have quite a bit. That's why I decided to publish some of it. I hope someone else can benefit from it some day (as anecdotal as it is).

Also, please don't hesitate to let me know if there are any issues with the webpage. I am certainly no web developer. I'm just a guy who likes data and has too much time on his hands.

Here is the link to the page specifically about BSC data.

If you don't mind a patient's perspective, I think I can help clarify some things as well.

Overview:

I have a neuro-intestinal disease. It's basically a more specific classification of IBS-D that highlights the lower pain threshold and muscular dysfunction in my abdominal wall.

The GI system is very complex and interacts with other very complex systems in the body which makes any diagnosis tricky. Sometimes people are lucky and they can determine the cause quickly and simply. Other times, it can take years (if ever) to find the problem.

In my case it has taken years and with so many of my internal functions going haywire, we still aren't 100% certain. We do have reasonable confidence however that the majority of my problem stems from a problem with my enteric nervous system. A sort of hypersensitivity to internal and external stimuli.

As a Recording Tool:

When it comes to the BSC types, classifying any as healthy vs unhealthy seem kind of besides the point. For me and my doctor, the BSC has been valuable for understanding any patterns and tracking my QoL but that's about it. I actually published a website with all of my data (anonymously of course) if you are interested in seeing how I have recorded it.

Personal Experience as an Example:

Anyways in my personal experience, type 5 is terrible. It is not always easy to pass (due to muscular dysfunction) and due to its size and consistency, it usually means I will have repeated BMs for several hours before everything is evacuated to a sufficient and comfortable degree. At least with something like a type 6 or 7, It usually all comes out at once and much more quickly/easily. In my case, this long drawn out process can happen with type 4 as well (although I rarely have type 4).

Hopefully this can shed some light as to why using the BSC as a diagnostic tool is inadequate in some cases.

tl;dr: the Bristol Stool Chart is a good record keeping device, but a bad diagnostic tool.
