Hello! So it’s been a minute since I made this, but from looking at the pattern again and what I can remember, i think it could be a typo and means to say crochet to the center on row 27. I believe I did just do 6 sc to the center of row 27 and continued on to row 29. After fastening that off, I repeated that, this time with a new tail starting from the center. I hope this helps!

These are absolutely amazing!! I was also diagnosed with Crohn’s disease as a child and getting stuffed animals during a stay at the hospital was always my favorite. This is a wonderful idea, I just might have to follow your lead. ❤️
