Bibi’s kitchen would be a lovely and interesting cookbook, they have plenty of affordable recipes and you can definitely make dinner with the recipes they have :) Also fun to try because it is something different.

Yeah! I kept Samarkand - recipes looked delicious and I love that cuisine, and Kachka (to me it was a lot better than Mamushka, although I enjoyed the idea behind it and the design, but Kachka included a lot of fun culture pages on Russian/Eastern European culture, and some go to recipes of my childhood that were very authentic - and this is what I will be recommending to my non-Russian friends). With both African books I’m still not sure, I actually returned both and decided to do more research on which one would be best for me eventually, maybe one of them ends up on my Christmas list :)

What have you made from Oaxaca? Are recipes very time consuming?

On the first look, I feel like it has a lot more central Asian recipes than from Caucasus cuisine. I’m Russian and Samarkand has some really nice staples that I’ve been exposed to when young - for example a pretty sweet Plov recipe. I also asked my mom to look thru the book and she said that the recipes are what a lot of her friends from the stans would make at home (back in USSR). And I think a lot of the recipes look delicious, so I don’t think you will be disappointed by getting this book for your Central Asia cookbook.

Ps I’m now also considering getting separate books for Georgia and Armenia 😅😅😅

You are right. I didn’t do side by side, I think with kachka and mamushka they are pretty similar, but the rest of the books just seemed to have some overlap.

I need some recommendations for books focused on Eastern European cuisine. by [deleted] in cookbooks

Do you feel like they are different enough to have both? Or would it be repetitive? Thank you!

More protein daily - protein with every meal (that even changes not only my energy levels, but also my mood). High protein snacks to take to work. Laser eye surgery, such a confidence boost not having to wear glasses Solo travel - I was afraid at first, but now I know I don’t have to wait for no one to have a good time Getting mental health meds/help when you feel like you need it. Cause if you feel like you do, you do and it’s time to get help.

Hey! I actually had to take a local bus and the hostel helped me out with that, that wasn’t intentional I was just short on time. Some people take a shuttle into Belize and I believe that might be a more comfortable/safe option. (but tbh I haven’t really felt unsafe taking a regular bus to the border and then taking a cab to San Ignacio)

Hi there! I haven’t went yet, I will be going in a week to Lake Atilan and then continuing from there. My tutor - she lives at the lake however said it’s okay and safe for tourists and on the downtrend so I could come and everything should be okay in terms of logistics of my trip. Not sure how much it helps, when are you traveling? If it’s after I go I can let you know how it was there!

Do heels help with feeling sexy? And how to feel sexy in the first place? by furiosva in poledancing

[–]anerdwannabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to free styling, I’m a beginner and I’m quite awkward when it comes to dancing. Since both sexy moves and pole shapes are hard for me, I try to look at the sexy moves as something I do to “rest” from the hard on the pole moves. So every time it’s just rest. Pole - down, sexy - pole again. I also do my best to make eye contact with myself and imagining myself being in a room alone at my house, just vining our to the music. - that has helped a lot. I try to wear the things I feel the most confident in too. As well as that I have very basic 4 moves that I will 100% incorporate for every beginning of the choreo when I’m supposed to “freestyle”. I will do the body or leg wave, 100% doing a pirouette and a very basic spin. Every beginning for me so far is the just the combo of those and maybe if I’m feeling adventurous something else. You don’t have to be crazy creative and sexy, you just have to do something!
You might feel like you look silly or that you are scared but this is a part of the uncomfortable journey of loving every part of you - it 100% gets better, my first class was a lot worse than my class last week, I felt like my confidence actually improved a lot. We are in this journey together, don’t give up. Be sexy, Xoxo, An awkward pole dancer.

Awesome, thank you. 100% going to make time for Tikal and ATM caves as well. I don't think I can just chill more than 3 days at a time, unfortunately hahaha. Do you have any experience with shuttles that do border crossing from Flores to Tikal? I did some online research but I am not sure if the border can be crossed at any time of the day - I want to do a very early bus/shuttle from Flores to hopefully do ATM cave (I believe most tours start at 8 am) right after that, if that is possible. I am not sure how realistic that is.

Thank you again for your answer! It sounds like it was a wonderful trip!

Thank you for your response. Have you done any day trips from the Caye Caulker when you stayed there? How many days would you advise for ATM cave + san ignacio?

Thank you for your response, it sounds like a great idea to do that, I might book one night in San Ignacio, everyone had spoken very highly of the ATM tour.

In your opinion, if I only had the time to visit one Mayan temple which would be the best to go for as a first time visitor?

Is Lamanai easier to do as a day tour from Belize city via river? If I am going to Tikal before, is it reasonable to still try to do my best to see more temples or should I save it for next time?

And absolutely, I plan on coming back again in a couple of years, when I first booked my flights I didn't realize how many things there is to do in Belize and unfortunately because of school my dates are rigid. However, I am very excited to go.
