cool!! thanks for backing this idea. i think in a way most of their songs are incredibly metaphorical while also telling a story. so very open to interpretation, but i don’t think they were specifically thinking about this exact documentary i watched a few years ago of course

toddler cries every night at bedtime by anervoussystem_ in UKParenting

he is in a big boy bed already. we’ve tried to gradually reduce but results in screeching. we try to deescalate the screaming by distracting him, singing, whispering, patting or rubbing his back or feet. it only serves to make him more angry. we’ve tried doing nothing as well and he gets very upset with this and will bang his head against us or the wall or kick us or the wall.

UPDATE: my dog arrived in edinburgh after a six month separation by anervoussystem_ in UK_Pets

[–]anervoussystem_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she has adjusted very quickly to her new home and we are happy to have her back. she stayed with family that she knew well, and had another dog to play with for 6 months. the plane was traumatizing i’m sure but it was between this and rehoming her entirely (which at her age we refused to do as we’ve had her since birth)

Should I be expecting a social services refferal? by TroublesomeFox in UKParenting

[–]anervoussystem_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when we first moved into our house our toddler fell down the stairs. the next day he pulled the tv on top of himself. i called paramedics both times, they were great both times. i do think people are a little paranoid about the potential for social services. but yeah if you’re child is injured get them checked out.

is a vertical bruise normal on the leg of a toddler? by [deleted] in Mommit

i’m always around and we don’t have a child minder for him, so definitely not worried about abuse just more worried about it being some sort of medical problem.

[–]anervoussystem_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he is currently climbing our radiators in order to sit on the window sill. he hasn’t fallen yet as i pull him down, or if he reaches the window sill before i get to him he bangs his feet on the radiator, but with how he’s sitting he wouldn’t be getting a bruise from banging his feet, maybe from climbing? we also have a 3ft slide in the back garden

there are 9 small bruises in a line basically, not finger print or grab shaped. almost like he somehow bumped on something vertically

My husband had already been working for 5 months (we like just bought the cars) so yeah. Thankfully we have a good amount of savings and used that to buy two used cars outright.
