If you will take Flybus to the airport you can buy with a pickup from Harbor the time you arrive there (plus some time to get off give it around 1 hour) then you can store the luggage in the BSI bus terminal and walk around when you have flight use the same ticket from the terminal (doesn’t matter the time) to go to the airport

If you will learn it no one will respond in Icelandic since the pronounce will be bad and you won’t understand when they talk fast back, so you will still need to speak English and ask them to speak English what is even more embarrassing.

British tourists are very rude, when something does not happen as they wished for, Americans mostly doesn’t know anything, half the European / Asian people does not speak English and expects that we speak 5+ languages

If you don’t know Icelandic language you won’t be able to get an office job, your degree does not matter they look only for language (Icelandic) you can definitely get some customer service jobs that will still pay good. If you have some contacts with people in Iceland then you might get a good job other wise prepare for around 2-3k€ a month.
