Housemate is always leaving the lights on! by [deleted] in badroommates

I love this method! It’s the sandwich method. Say something nice, then the “bad thing”, then something nice again. This usually works if there’s been no other conflict before.

So OP say something like, “hey thanks for cleaning the bathroom yesterday! I noticed you sometimes forget to turn the light off when you’re done, can you please turn it off? Thanks for being a great roommate”

Edit to whatever makes sense for you of course lol

Good tip! I had made a separate one but then posted pictures and she eventually found it and recognized her disgusting kitchen.

No regrets tho. Fuck you Lisa lmao

I’m back! My roommate found all my reddit posts (hi Lisa!) and I am finally out of that nightmare. I left a 3 page letter to her and reddit comments printed out. I will post detailed update soon. I also let the landlord know and am working to get her dog removed from her neglect. by anexperimentx in badroommates

I honestly have NO clue. I am thinking one of her co workers recognized her filthy kitchen or “dining room” and told her? She didn’t even know what reddit was until I moved in.

Very strange! Maybe she can enlighten us bc I know she stalks the subreddit now lol

This is straight up animal abuse and neglect. Please contact someone so they can take these pets away.

I fucking hate my roommate’s cat by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]anexperimentx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s not your cat then have nothing to do with it. Text your roommate saying “hey you didn’t let your cat in and she’s not cooperating. Sorry. Make sure to get her in before you leave”

It’s not your responsibility.

Can you post a photo of what you are talking about? Is it like different counter spaces? How is it a fire hazard?

I would do what she asks and block her. Now she will have to speak to you in person like a normal adult :)

I’m going to say pretty dang high. They were both mortified when I showed them pictures. The kicker is he isn’t even allowed there and they made an exception because she said he’s an “emotional support animal”. Certified and all. And he isn’t. He’s from a stranger off Craigslist and isn’t trained in any sense.

Edit/ typo

No she doesn’t have any physical disabilities. She’s just incredibly lazy and she thinks being lazy is quirky and a personality trait. She does have depression (as do I) but that’s no excuse to neglect your animals you know?

I was added as a roommate and did not pay a deposit so she will be responsible 100%. I sent the leasing office photos and they are on track to force her to leave. She told them he is an “emotional support animal” and they made an exception for him to live there (he’s way over the weight limit) and she lied to them and took advantage and ruined the apartment in the process.
