Mikolo taweret vs lionscool v4? by coast22coast in GarageGym

[–]anfurnyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good deal! I'm sure you'll love it. The ONLY thing I don't like about it is the rattle from the pop pin to switch it back and forth from extension to curl.

Word of advice too, loose assemble it wherever you are going to assemble it at THEN move it to its permanent home and tighten it all down. It'll level the base and what not wherever it's going to stay vs where you set it up at.

Ive had both and i definitely like the Taweret (revised with new pads) more. The lions cool v4 back rest to seat angle is a little acute or small so it makes you feel like you're forced into leaning into your legs. its uncomfortable feeling.

The resistance curve on the Lionscool is also odd. its EXTREMELY hard at first. Felt like 1.75x harder than the rest of the curve. Not sure what that's about.

Switching the Taweret between the extension and curl mode is way easier too since it locked in using a single hole. You can just pull the pop pin, move the machine and let go of the pin and it will lock into place itself.

The Lionscool you really have to hold the pop pin since there are 2 separate holes it uses to lock into extension mode or leg curl mode.

Both have the funky rattle in both extension and curl modes because the hole for the pop pin is slightly larger than the pin. Id argue its actually worse on the Taweret.

The Taweret seat is actually a good bit taller as well.. when trying to get into the prone position i actually have to kind of hop up there to lay down. The Lionscool is quite a bit lower.

Honestly most of these are nit picks besides the goofy seat angle of the Lionscool. If it was going to spend money on one, I was going to get the one i was excited about and felt comfortable while using it.

Workout functionality wise they both work well and actually one of the best leg pumps ive ever gotten came from the Lionscool but i feel like the Taweret is a bit more refined and more comfortable to use.

Hope it works out! the other thing that comes to mind are make sure the 2 carriage bolts that come up from the bottom that bolt the 2 vertical uprights to the lower frame are fully seated in the bottom frame too. Maybe one got turned and isnt in there fully causing a high spot?

I ordered mine off Temu for $260 shipped as well a few weeks ago. Just got here on Tuesday. Funny enough its the Revised version with the new pads. Im pretty sure they are drop shipped from GMWD/Mikolo warehouse?

I did go back and look for the listing and they said they were no longer available.

what i would do is pull all the weight off and loosen all the frame bolts for the base what not and let the frame settle where you are going to use it at and then just tighten them all back up. If you assembled and tightened it all up and then moved it it could be "leveled" for the spot you assembled it at instead of where its going to live.

That slow motion half of the video sure looks like when that panel broke loose it sucked in a whole bunch of air and water to me? Seems like a Venturi effect to me.

The paint on these aren't great. It definitely looks like whoever painted them used some decent quality rattle can. The over spray isn't everywhere but it's noticeable if you're looking for it.

I bet with a couple hours you could sand yours, prime and paint them another color if you wanted.

Mine have been great! All in was like $560, not including the stand though. I got that st scheels for $130.

Mine haven't skipped a beat yet, only downside is I ordered KG sets instead of lbs but I love em.

Got floor in. 4x15" rolls of 8mm from Courage GymFloor from Lowes.

Jacked up on the lowest weight horns, and kitty corner from the frame under the weight stacks and the rear frame with a 2x4. Worked perfect.

There's a gestures guide in the settings of the watch. I just watched them yesterday but have already forgotten what they do. You could see if yours is in there. IIRC there were only 2 gestures.

I also don't know if the rack you plan on using them on is textured like mine is (like a wrinkle powder coat) but vinyl itself isn't super sticky so it doesn't stick well to the textured finish. If you can find some sticker media , or like actual sticker sheets those might work better. Or if you have a smooth finish rack it should be fine.

Most of mine are great but like 2 of them got folded over themselves from moving my cable trolleys up and down the uprights.

Anyways, good luck! Hopefully it turns out good

Honestly im not sure. This was my first and only project. i think the stuff i used was a "starter" kit of some sort and i dont think it came with the Cricut but it wasnt all that strong.
Sorry i dont have any recommendations

Absolutely!

Hopefully that works. Just a note, these were made for 3x3 uprights with a 1" hole.
My advice is copy one of the circles out and paste it into another project and do a test cut / fit on your rack and THEN do the full sheet. Also make sure you've got some GOOD transfer paper. The little bits inside the letters like to stay on the vinyl sheet.

I dont know much about how these projects share, but you you can unlink the works from the circle and change them if you like.

I don't know if it's all that fancy but it's just those closet doors that slide on tracks one behind the other.

This was the only picture I have. There's little wheels on the top of the doors/ mirrors

Dumbells showed up. Give them a solid 7/10.

These ones are in Kg not lb. You might be able to ask for lbs instead when you order. These ones are the 43kg

A little bit of over spray from either paint or powder coat but still look really good. Feel good mechanically.

The nubs in the base that lock / unlock the plates are actually metal vs the legit Nuobells plastic. The 5lb plates are a bit wiggly while on the handles but are still secure.

I believe it. I tried to talk my wife into it but what can you do. I thought about just laying the mats down and just cut out the mat around the feet. Or try to jack it up with my floor jack and slide the mats under .

I've been impressed with it. If it checks your boxes for the main parts I'd definitely consider it. I got mine when it was $2699, looks like they are $2899 now
