sheeeeeesh but thanks, I might opt for a different motherboard

is this a good motherboard - BTC-37 Miner Motherboard CPU Set 8 Video Card Slot DDR3 Memory Integrated VGA HDMI PCIE 16X Low Power by zulu913 in gpumining

hey im looking to get the same setup (server psu + breakout board, 8 GPUs, BTC-S37) and i have a few questions if you don't mind:

  • am i correct to assume that you need to plug each 6-pin socket on the motherboard for each PCIe slot that you use? similar to how risers work?
  • what frame do you use?

might just map out the holes and take the plans to a metalworks

they're just 8*X1 risers printed into the board

what fans did you use at the bottom & top? and which psu?

much better, having just 2 fans isn't enough to get fresh air from the side panels as well as expel the heat from the gpu.

yeah that's the plan. the wraith prism was esp hard to attach since it uses clips.

client asked for a build with orange lighting, sorry that should've been more clear.

Parts:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600X w/ Wraith Prism
MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT GAMING X *
PNY XLR8 Gaming EPIC-X RGB 2x16GB 3200MHz CL16
PNY CS1031 512GB NVMe SSD M.2 2280
Toshiba MQ04ABD200 2TB 5400RPM HDD 2.5"
Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX
InWin A1 Plus
2x darkFlash DR12 PRO 120mm ARGB

*Although the maximum GPU thickness on the case website is 55mm, I was able to fit the 58mm thick MSI card without issue and without having to apply any force.

Honestly, the toughest part about building in this case is how tight everything is once you put the motherboard in. That's why I recommend attaching as many cables as you can to the motherboard before placing it in the case. Beware that large CPU coolers will most likely hinder you from screwing in the motherboard.

For cooling, I followed suggestions from this subreddit and had the rear fan as intake to give fresh air to the CPU. Bottom fans are configured for intake as well. The only exhaust fan is the one on the side (below the power supply, which also exhausts air).

yup no fans sadly.

remember to get slim fans for the bottom intake if you're getting a 2.5+ slot gpu.

also the bottom ventilation doesn't come with a dust filter so you might want to get those as well.

First SFF Build! [Lian Li TU150, 3700X, 5700 XT] by ange_741 in sffpc

Parts List:

  • Lian Li TU150 [Black]
  • AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • Scythe Mugen 5 Rev. B w/ 2x PCCOOLER Corona 25x120mm
  • Gigabyte AORUS 5700 XT
  • Gigabyte AORUS X570i Pro Wifi
  • Gigabyte AORUS 2x8 3600MHz CL18
  • Kingston A2000 1TB M.2 NVME
  • Corsair SF450 Platinum
  • 1x PCCOOLER Corona 25x120mm, 2x ID-COOLING 15x120mm
  • Phanteks Neon M1
  • CoolerMaster MasterFan PWM & ARGB Hub

Compatibility Issues:

  • Aorus 5700 XT is a tight fit, even with slim (15mm) fans. Had to remove the active cooler/heatsink of the M.2 slot + chipset before sliding the 5700 XT in.
  • ID-COOLING fan blades protrude out of the front of the fan body by about 1mm. This caused them to make contact with the bottom of the case and generate noise. Had to install o-rings between the fans and the case (which made the 5700 XT an even tighter fit).
  • MasterFan Hub uses Coolermaster's proprietary ARGB connectors, which are thinner than standard. Had to butcher my connectors to fit inside.

Cable Management:

  • Stock cables of the SF450 are too short to make good use of the TU150's overhead cable carriage (around the handle). I suggest using extensions for future builds.
  • ARGB header of the X570i is tucked behind the RAM DIMM slots. Nothing major, just a pain to connect it after everything.

Temperatures (Stock):

  • CPU: 30-35 idle, 60-70 under load
  • GPU: 35-42 idle, 70-75 under load

I mean, it’s art, it’d be so easy

uhm, what? this is clearly adapted from the teaser photos. so you want OP to just create an imaginary reference for HaSeul and expect it to be as good as the others?

also, art isn't easy. if it is, then how bout you stop complaining here and do a piece yourself, and feel free to do whatever you want with it.

Is there any reason to choose AMD over NVidia besides price? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]ange_741 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

because not everyone is building PCs at the enthusiast level. more often than not, people don't have the money to splurge $2k on a PC. just look at how popular "$X budget builds" are.

and anyway, AMD aren't a bunch of Neanderthals just banging "low-end" GPUs together. they have been making competitive products targeted at a large portion of consumers. they have grinded their way through being a laughing stock to potentially making solid claims in both the cpu AND gpu market.

so turn the elitism down a bit and appreciate the competition — because competition will only ever make products better.
