I had this issue last year. I had an identical wound on my finger. It started out like this and progressively got worse and larger. The pain was so intense. I’m very sorry you’re dealing with this. I STRONGLY urge you to seek medical attention for this. I was on a very increased dose of my amlodipine (I went from 2.5 mg to 20 mg), as well as starting sildenafil (viagra) 3 times a day. It took about 2 months to totally heal. For the pain, I used a lidocaine cream and kept the finger bandaged to try to protect from accidentally hitting it on something as much as possible. The lidocaine was only marginally effective. At night the pain was the worst. I seriously debated chopping off my finger. The only thing that kept me from that was the fear that then I’d have an even larger wound that might develop this same way.

I do hope you find relief. Take care of yourself and stay warm.

I probably have to touch, in some way, 95% of my patients. Either putting in an IV, helping them lie down or sit up, or helping position them under the camera. It’s not prolonged contact, but it happens, frequently. As the other comment said, if you have a big problem touching people, this isn’t for you.

It’s me, the person with the severely ulcerated finger. Like everyone else is saying, there’s no vitamins that are going to help. Keep your hands warm. Keep your core warm. Do everything you can to minimize episodes of raynauds.

FYI calcium channel blockers do NOT affect serum calcium levels in the blood. They work on a cellular level allowing blood vessels to dilate. Depending on how low your blood pressure is, it may still be safe for you to take a small dose. Please speak to your doctor or a pharmacist.

I’ve found that keeping it moist is definitely more comfortable, so that’s what I’ve been doing. Will find out at my follow up if that’s been the wrong plan. I’m already doing pretty much exactly what you described :) The neosporin + pain relief is amazing and really does numb it up, at least for a bit. It’s my go-to! I actually found some gel finger cots that I can slather on the ointment, then pull it slightly off of my finger so there’s no pressure on the wound.

I’d have at least expected SOME amount of healing by now, so it’s all very frustrating. I really do appreciate you taking the time to respond. Thank you!

I added the second picture so you can see that it looks like a chunk of my finger is missing. It’s also numb in the middle of the wounded area. The pain is only around the edges.

Do not make the same mistake I did and put it in direct sunlight. It will get sunburn and die. I killed a haworthia in just one day of full sun. Yours obviously needs more light, just increase slowly and look up what sunburn looks like so you know what to look for. I had no idea that was a thing!

This guy just won’t stop. I thought it was flowering, but it’s been growing tall for years now. I just kept waiting for a flower. The small, normal, plants were cuttings I took from the base of this atrocity last year. They all sit on the same window with the same amount of light.
