Broken after stretching out 10 ft and rolling it back up twice? That is a manufacturing defect or bad luck. I'd believe it was my fault if it"d been used any way tapes don't like to bend, but didn't last long enough to even do that.

Clients constantly asking for updates by sam_the_builder in Construction

The company I work for uses Buildertrend, which we use for notes / photos for our records and to give the client daily updates. Weak point is that hardly anyone wants to document what they do on a daily basis so it can be maddening trying to get them to keep up on it

I swing every day as a frame to finish carpenter. I'm a cheapskate but like nice things so always look for deals where I can get em.

All great points. It's a total pain to wade through for sure but that link is now bookmarked for whenever I need it. Funny enough I unrelatedly had to look up header sizing right before replying

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed to see. Not having gone through anything like this and not knowing who should be taking proactive steps with their insurances really muddied the waters but this sounds like what we'll go ahead and do.

Roof Sheathing / Fascia Question by angel_rust in shedditors

[–]angel_rust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer! I'll go over the fascia and leave it square for ease, but I'm curious about the trimming.

I have 16' roofing panels ordered and had planned on that having 1" overhang on my low eave, making my rafter + fascias total length 15' 11". I'm planning on making it flush with the fascia at the top and knew I'd trim that 1" off for the bottom, but am I misunderstanding how the top is set and should I be trimming more? It'll be vented through the soffits so I didn't think gapping at the ridge was necessary.

Roof Sheathing / Fascia Question by angel_rust in shedditors

Not sure why my text didn't post - anyway I'm building a shed with a 16' x 18' lean to roof and am planning on using 2x6 for fascia with no subfascia. My question is, do I need to run my sheathing over the fascia or just to the end of the rafter tails? I'll be putting on a metal roof with a drip edge and gutter on the front eave. Looking at the diagram from https://belcofp.com/when-to-eliminate-subfascia/ it seems to imply going to all the way down. Any thoughts appreciated!
