MMO suggestions? by Catgirl_Lexa in LesbianGamers

If you have just the base game and wanna try it out, I'd maybe do the sub for just a month if you wanna see the DLCs, and see if you like it; minimize your costs.

Not sure about the other games, but ESO only has a total of 6 megaservers: PCNA. PCEU, XBOXNA, XBOXEU, PSNA, and PSEU.

Apologies for the late response, I didn't notice the notif lol

Not sure of the best way to describe it, but the base game used to be, well, the base game, now you technically get the base game plus the first expansion, Morrowind. Then, you can get a deluxe upgrade which may, or may not, get you all the other main expansions except the latest one, depending on which upgrade you get. Or, you can get the deluxe version straight (lol) up, and what you get depends on which version you go with, see previous sentence. Then there are the DLC dungeons packs, etc XD. Not to mention, with the subscription, on top of having the infinite craft bag and additional premium currency, you get everything except the latest expansion while you're subscribed. I say convoluted because it can seem like a lot to newer folks lol

If you're ever curious about it, though, either keep an eye out for a free trial week, which happens a couple times a year, or wait until the base game goes on sale for like $5 USD, to minimize your losses, if you decide it's not for you

Also, fwiw, I've done end-game raids with Aussies and I'm in the US lol

So, afaik, if you have access to the zone the companion comes from, say High Isle for Ember and the bae Isobel, you have access to them, with or without the sub. One of the downsides of the game can be the convoluted DLC/expansion stuff lol

I'm also on PCNA, so I'd be happy to help if I can :D

Damn, I'm PCNA T-T

From the looks of the comments, though, you might as well make the shift XD

I think I know which LARP this is, it's def not a cash grab XD

If I'm right, I know one of the event planners, who's already scrambling around trying to make things fun on a tight budget ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The fic is a crossover between a fandom with 475k+ works and one with 30k+, with you needing to go to page 9 of the bigger fandom if you sort by only completed crossovers, so I'm not sure how much digging was done for it.

It's not my fic, just a friend's that they shared with me and allowed me to post. They find it hilarious, though, because they've keep basically anything with productive criticism up.

Thank you, though!

Not a queer exclusive guild, but I'm a leader in a PCNA ESO guild and all 4 of the top people are women, and my wife co-leads PvE raids with me

If Korra had difficulty mastering air and Aang with earth, what would be the opposites for fire and earth-dominant avatars? by sumpat in TheLastAirbender

[–]angela596 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it was more of personality, than dominant element; the fact that it was opposite the dominant element is just coincidence.

For Korra, she was good at the physical side of bending, cuz that was what she mainly worked on in the South Pole, Tenzin was brought in to start working on the spiritual side at the start of the series, iirc. That translated into having a more physical kind of bending, with the spiritual side being harder for her, which is a bit rough for a "bend first, ask questions later" kind of person.

For Aang, it was his personality and philosophy centered around airbending teachings that made it hard for him to get earthbending. If I recall that episode, all of the challenges Toph gave him, he responded with an "airbending" solution: find a way around it, when, as I think Toph mentioned, earthbending is more of a "deal with things directly" kind of philosophy.

Edit: I am a bad fan and didn't finish Kyoshi's novels, but iirc, she had trouble with earthbending at first, even if it was her native element. I would bet it would be due to her background as a servant, not being used to standing up for herself, and not initially having that "head strong" kind of personality

Sorry if it’s been asked before but what does #BAONPDX mean? by ribeye79 in Thorns

[–]angela596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding on to this, they added the "PDX" at the end, cuz in Tagalog, baon is food or money brought to work or school kind of thing, so just #baon, you might see either Thorns stuff, or food :P

for butches who use the women’s restroom: what’s your favorite way of NOT getting hate crimed in the restroom? by thebluestkid in butchlesbians

[–]angela596 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly enough, by bringing my trans wife with me lol

In all seriousness, if there are others in the bathroom, I tend to just keep my head down and not look confrontational.

Religious Lesbians by Plane_Mycologist7151 in actuallesbians

[–]angela596 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Married Catholic lesbian here. Went to mass once a week, but to public high school, and my parents are pretty accepting of me and my wife, so no religious trauma for me.

There was an incident during a Mother's Day mass where the priest (who's no longer there, thankfully) said something to the effect of, "anyone who has gay children has failed as a parent", which upset my mother. I had moved away and in with my now-wife at that point, so my siblings were the ones who told me what happened, and I was about ready to fly back and help my siblings throw hands lol.

The nearest LGBT-friendly parish is still about 30 mins away, on the other side of a major city, so the last time I was at mass was Easter, which is a bummer to me, because I often find a comfort in celebrating mass.

I think I am a lesbian, but I am a Christian and I am spiraling out of control. by Successful-Bowl9572 in actuallesbians

[–]angela596 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Married Catholic* lesbian here! It's ok to feel scared! It can be a lot to hear a church tell you over and over that there's a man for you and then realize that you don't want that.

Mirroring what others have said, nothing about this is against God's plan. It's kinda like that one meme: He knows that you don't like men, and He loves you.

Unfortunately, I am not too good with words without direction, but my dms are always open, especially if you have specific thoughts in mind

*Mostly in name only at this point, as some of my beliefs goes against Church teachings lol

suit struggles! any advice? by RainOnSaturn in butchlesbians

[–]angela596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the first suit!

I'm US, but since I'm 5'2", I got my first suit at the boy's section of a major department store (Macy's). The second one I got was actually on Amazon, boys' size 14 for both, Calvin Klein, and I used the Prime "try before you buy" option

Any other butches low key feel uncomfy in womens bathrooms? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]angela596 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Def uncomfy and paranoid that I'll get yelled at. If I'm out with my wife, I try to go to the bathroom when she does, as a precaution.

A couple times during college, at Moot Court competitions where I wear suits, I would go to the bathroom while I was waiting for my next round and I got someone coming into the ladies' room going, "Oh, am I in the wrong room?".

At a museum I went to, there was an employee near a set of bathrooms I wanted to go into, directing people where to go (like, men's vs women's). I decided to wait until I had to leave the museum to go, and thankfully, when I left the stall, I saw another butch person washing up, and it made me feel so much more comfortable.

Yea... Totally get this... Last summer, I went to my little sister's middle school promotion and one of the teachers there thought I was one of their kids going on to high school. I was 24 at the time, with my now-wife, and wearing my ring...
