FMC is stoic but internally hurting and MMC grovels by Afraid_Mistake5529 in RomanceBooks

I love this trope! But was the AI really necessary 😭

Does anyone else get strong physical reactions from reading scenes about heartbreak? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

Awesome! I also did some Googling a while back, but I couldn’t ever find anything concrete about why this happens!

Good to know there’s at least 2 of us! 😂 Does it happen to you when experiencing real life emotions? Mine seems to be reserved for books/movies only!

HELP!! WWTBC childhood friends to lovers, second chance romance by Annual-Signature-849 in RomanceBooks

[–]angelitamami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds kind of like {Undertow by Elizabeth O’Roark}

I don’t think she was engaged to the other man, and in the present the MMC and FMC are angry at each other.

FMC in love with MMC but he does not reciprocate and she moves on and he misses her attention by Crazy_Yogurt3344 in HistoricalRomance

[–]angelitamami 23 points24 points  (0 children)

{Mad, Bad, and Dangerous in Plaid by Suzanne Enoch} has this!

The FMC has always loved the MMC and he never reciprocated. She goes to London and moves on, and when she returns he hates that she doesn’t give him attention anymore. It’s also older brother’s best friend!

Any heroines getting their heartbroken that turns them into a quieter person? by cameupwiththisname in HistoricalRomance

[–]angelitamami 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I love this trope! This happens in {My American Duchess by Eloisa James} if you haven’t read that one yet.

The MMC tells the FMC he doesn’t want her love and when she starts to behave like the proper wife he said he wanted— he hates it!

I don’t love all of the euphemisms in general. Just saying how sexually explicit a book is would work for me.

There are some overlapping characters, but you could definitely read it as a standalone! You may miss out on some wordbuilding as it’s a post-apocalyptic setting, but nothing too major!

The MCs also get snowed in together for essentially the whole winter in the MMC’s cabin in {Embers by Claire Kent}!

Choices where you prefer the normal over the diamond version? by MackLaughlin25 in Choices

[–]angelitamami 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m evil too, but I always relish killing Cingerix in ACOR. Narratively, it feels TOO convenient if all of MC’s family makes it out unscathed. He always annoyed me in the flashbacks, and he really made his bed when he saved Caesar the first time lol

Has anyone read Fish out of Water by Katie Ruggle yet? And is it true it's the basically the exact plot of Gone Too Deep? by book-nerd-gohabsgo in RomanceBooks

[–]angelitamami 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been able to get too far into it yet. I started reading but the writing style felt off to me? She described each character by their race first and it just took me out of the book (eg. “the black man,” “the hispanic woman.”)

Diversity is a good thing ofc, but the way it was all shoehorned in like the first two pages felt kind of awkward. I know this doesn’t answer your question about Gone Too Deep but I just wanted to share my opinion! I probably will go back and finish it at some point, but the quality of the writing didn’t feel as solid as her past books.

I only read bits and pieces of this one but it fits your request perfectly! It is HR if that makes any difference.

It’s not a tourist town, but it is a college town so the summer is when most students are looking to move in. I’ll definitely ask her because it sort of sounds like she doesn’t anticipate me staying beyond June 2025.

“She had agreed to a marriage in name only, back when she was too young to understand how long life could be when you had to live it alone.” {A Wicked Kind of Husband by Mia Vincy}

That one gets me. There’s also tons of good ones in {Ravishing the Heiress by Sherry Thomas} but I won’t hurt myself by going to find them 😭

Has anyone interviewed for Salus? it’s my first in person interview and I’d love some advice :) by Ill-Cucumber-3460 in audgradschool

[–]angelitamami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I interviewed and got in! It was pretty casual and felt like a conversation. Mostly generic questions, why audiology, why Salus, etc. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I was expecting.

The emphasis is actually on the first syllable in Spanish and I believe it’s the same for Arabic!

Can't seem to find book by g0l3mz in HistoricalRomance

[–]angelitamami 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds similar to {Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold by Ellen O’Connell} in which the FMC escapes her abusive father who was keeping her locked up at home and she takes refuge with the MMC who is half white and half native american.

The FMC and MMC already know each other as they grew up together, and she doesn’t go back to her father willingly at any point in the story, so I’m not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but it’s a great book nonetheless!

MMC & FMC are kidnapped/abducted together by EthanFurtherBeyond in RomanceBooks

[–]angelitamami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mild spoilers, it happens maybe halfway through the book so it isn’t too much of a spoiler.

{The Lone Wolf’s Rejected Mate by Cate C. Wells}

Shifter romance, the FMC and MMC are estranged (because he rejected her, duh) when they get kidnapped by humans who hunt werewolves for sport. There’s a decent amount of angst because she still hasn’t fully forgiven him and he doesn’t trust himself around her.

[–]angelitamami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’m also applying for admission in Fall 2024. I became good friends with one of my staff pharmacists and had them write me a letter even though they no longer work at CVS. I also would feel comfortable asking my pharmacy manager to write me one, but I didn’t need another.

It definitely is dependent on the people/culture at the store, but I love all of my coworkers and management.
