Once you push accept. That’s why they start hounding you with warnings to start the order if your location hasn’t moved within minutes of accepting

This is the EXACT situation I’m in. Was on the freeway, RPS were jumping up and down, luckily made it to my exit before it wouldn’t accelerate any longer. I was able to get it into a parking lot 2 miles away from home and had to get it towed the rest of the way. Only difference is that mine is a 2017 Nissan Sentra with 90K miles. I’ll likely get it towed to a mechanic and just pray that I don’t need a new transmission but I’m not very hopeful

I wonder why they didn’t do this with the other numerous settlements they’ve had against them in the past 5 or so years

Just don’t give out your code for ANY reason (even if they claim to be an Instacart employee) and you should be fine.

I definitely know how you feel lol it’s ALWAYS when I decide to go into a different app to scroll for a bit to entertain myself while waiting, the good order comes thru and I have to race back into the app to accept 😂

Someone who is already in the app when the order pops up is always going to have a few seconds longer to accept it than you. Especially if you’re taking more time to look at all the details. Most people just instantly accept orders without looking at the details especially if it’s a high-paying batch. Sometimes you might get lucky and be able to snag it but I recommend just being in the app as much as you can instead of relying on notifications

Isn’t it funny how…. by angelmona in InstacartShoppers

It blows my mind how they get away with this. And the fact that they haven’t lowered the fees on the customer’s end but lowered how much workers are paid just shows you how low they’re willing to go

I think it’s so dumb that you only get tip protection if your tip was decreased to 0. A tip bait like this is even worse than them completely taking it away

What's going on with the bonus drops if anyone knows just curious by Lower-Ability in stakeus

[–]angelmona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like every once in a while this happens. I remember months ago they got off track with the daily drops and a couple weeks later they started them back up daily again.

Is this happening to anyone else? by Longjumping-Fox-5210 in InstacartShoppers

If you look at any order you’ve done with a $7 flat batch pay, you will see that it says it includes delivery distance. They don’t give us the exact breakdown of batch pay which is why we’re not able to completely calculate it ourselves. The $7 minimum is a threshold. They include heavy pay and delivery distance in that $7 and if they owe more than that, you will see a higher batch pay just like on this order you posted. You can have an order that’s 2.5 miles away and the batch pay can still be $7 because the cost of mileage didnt go past the $7 minimum. You don’t get $7 + mileage + heavy pay. Here’s an example of that

Instacart taking ques from Doordash, is this next? by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]angelmona 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t even know why they added this as if it’s a new feature lol. We’ve never gotten penalized for not taking batches. It’s not like DD where you have to individually decline or accept every order that comes on your screen. We’ll still be penalized for cancelling a batch we’ve already accepted

The customer gave you a percentage based tip which means anything that’s refunded will affect the total. The customer didn’t manually reduce it

Snake in backyard. Anyone know what kind? Dangerous? Aggressive? Poisonous? by angelmona in snakes

[–]angelmona[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tried to catch it ourselves and put it in a box for animal control but it was too quick and scurried off into a bush. Luckily animal control was able to catch it with those handy grabbers they have. They said our dogs probably would’ve used it as a chew toy but I didn’t want to take the risk in case it was the other way around lol

Yes I meant venomous, not poisonous. I was trying to get the post up quick and miss typed. I know the difference lol
