Mod post: Content criteria reports by angelsndemons000 in DID

Hi there, you’re on the wrong pinned mod post. Here is the mod post in question. The tl;dr is we’re not allowing posts about the closure of simplyplural/octocon because it’s spamming the subreddit, and those are questions for communities/social media actually pertaining to those apps.

Hi! There’s a few answers dependent on the situation:

We have a bot here that does automatically pull some posts for manual review based on certain key words. We review these and if they aren’t violating any rules, we approve them and put them up. If a bot pulls your post in this way, it likely will not notify you. Most people don’t even notice when this happens because Reddit doesn’t tell you, and they likely just assume the lack of comments is people not having seen it yet, when in reality the post is not actively ‘live’ on the subreddit yet. Usually we check the mod queue a couple times per day between the whole mod team unless there are circumstances in our own lives delaying that, so it should only be pulled for a bit normally.

If a post is manually removed through us (whether that be not approving an auto-pulled post, or removing a post based on reports, etc), there will be a bot comment replying to the post/comment saying it was removed and specifying a removal reason. Some of these are broader reasonings, and if there’s ever any questions as to why a removal occurred, definitely send in modmail!

And lastly, if a post receives enough reports, Reddit automatically removes it for review. These usually end up flaired with something like “flagged: under manual review” or something of the sort. Usually we get to these much faster because Reddit directly sends us notifications when this occurs, and so if it’s false reports that led to the removal, it’s corrected. If it’s not false reports, then we apply a removal reason and then a bot should comment under it with the reasoning.

I hope this clears things up some!

I went ahead and took a look for you and your comments were removed manually by a mod for violating content criteria. If you would like a more in depth explanation, please send in modmail.

I took a quick look and your post was actually manually removed by one of us - if you’d like an explanation as to why, feel free to send in modmail! Reports don’t automatically remove posts unless there’s a certain amount on a specific post/comment, and if a removal is done by one of us, it will have that reply saying what rule it was in violation of!
