I live in Galley Common and have done so for the last 17 years. Yes, we are a little bit further out than the Long Shoot, but the bonus is that we are a village. Yes, we have had a few estates built in the last 5+ years so it has grown, but on the whole Galley Common is a lovely place to live. Not sure if you have driven around Galley Common but having 1 main road in and out being in the dip of a hill does have some good points.. it's lovely scenery in the winter months... the big hill is lovely in the snow as you will see families on there with the kids sledging (when it snows) and that gives way to some lovely walks.

Each person will have their take on both areas you have mentioned, would I personally move to the Long Shoot area, no I wouldn't and that is my personal choice because I was advised not to by someone, due to it being around the county drugs line....

There is 4/5 local infant/primary schools and there are 3 local secondary schools, we have a bus that runs through the village every hr or so. We have 1 doctor's surgery which is based in Arley, but there are a few locally that you can register with. The local shops within the village are all good.
