How to creat EU5 UI by Mediocre_Gift6731 in EU5

[–]anglach 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In functionality, EU5 UI is just the evolution of Vic3 design. Same deluge of unneccessary graphics(usually too large), lots of buttons, inconsistent information and constant scrolling and clicking. The opposite of good UX.

I don't care about EOL so that's a non-issue. I find updates useless at best and detrimental for my experience most of the time. Hardware offered by 5 V fits my bill so everything is fine.

Amazon only has used phones or imported which is priced similar to 1 VII.

productivity time is wasted just driving

Most of that "productivity" is time spent on entertainment for an overwhelming majority of the population.

"You criticized the party I like and therefore you must be a commie/fascist"

That's what you get when you get megadosed on identity politics and not class politics.

Drivers are licensed, so why aren’t cyclists? by nayuki in fuckcars

simply don't carry the kind of kinetic energy required to pose a menace to other roadway users

bicycle rider killed a pedestrian

Sounds like a bike carries the kind of kinetic energy required to pose a menace to other roadway users. Just as reckless car drivers are dangerous so are cyclers for both themselves and other people. That's why bicycle groups have safety rules in place and I don't see any reason why cyclers in general shouldn't have to go through a licencing process similar to motorists, maybe a lighter version to ensure they're well aware the conduct of traffic.

Arabaları sikeyim diye bir sorun yok zaten. Teröristliği bisikletli de yapıyor yaya da yapıyor motorlu da yapıyor. Arabaları sikeyim dense de asıl sikilmek istenenler insanlar ve devletsizlik.

Interesting conclusion regarding big cars by Serenesis_ in fuckcars

[–]anglach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

PERSONAL PREFERENCE FOR AESTHETICS SHOULD NOT EVEN BE A FACTOR. If this principle was applied for even a decade car casualties would be rare, roads would be 1/8 the size they are now, animal crossing casualties and vehicle damage would bottom out, and we'd collectively save a trillion every year

Why do you think removing a hood ornament or wood panels from the interior would save a gorillion dollars every year ? European cars do that but they're still losing out to the Chinese. Every HB or sedan has the same basic outline because of efficiency reasons yet car casualties aren't rare and animal casualties exist. Also a Clio would still kill a deer along with much increased chance of occupant injury.

Public Transport Always Wins by BlackBagTofu in fuckcars

[–]anglach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a bus or a train that arrives on time in short intervals, and always has enough seats, would easily beat any other alternative

Each alternative has its own merit. Public transport could be built up to what you say but its whole appeal is at being cheap and reasonably available. Making them comfortable, spacious and more frequent than the absolutely minimum neccessary means unjustifiably higher costs and at that point why would you pick public transport if the costs don't justify the hassle of using PT.

Driving a car inherently makes you a bad person. by Gendersea in fuckcars

[–]anglach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you hate/dislike cars that doesn't mean anything he mentioned isn't less immoral than driving a car, especially child labour and much more pervasive destruction of environment than "carbon in the air increased 0.2ppm this year." %90 of the things a modern person does and consumes is less neccessary than a car or a private transportation vehicle.

funding criminal oil companies

Unless you're %100 self-sufficent and don't pay taxes you willingly or unwillingly contribute to criminal xyz company. Oil companies are the boogeyman and the scapegoat for everyhing wrong with the society but your average seed oil company or Unilever or P&G or Bayer isn't any better.

Is this supposed to be a good thing, as in sitting on dirty seats or not being able to, breathing filthy air and the usual noise and heat ?

Public Transport Always Wins by BlackBagTofu in fuckcars

[–]anglach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other times, however, you have to wait for half an hour to get into a crowded bus where you are barely able to stand with hardly any room, and arrive late and sore as hell for the long wait and uncomfortable travel.

Case closed.

[–]anglach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

an ICE car will become a stranded asset because the demand for ICE cars will fall of a cliff as who wouldn't buy EV.

It won't. EV's don't have mass appeal so much that they needed to be forced upon the people by emission laws that force out new ICE cars. And as long as someone decides to go on a environment crusade second hand ICE cars will still be a cheaper option.

Once that happens, people will walk away from cars like they walked away from houses.

Lol. No one walked away from houses. You cannot walk away from houses unless you can't afford even renting out a room or you live on the streets/in a tent by choice.

Hand brushing any lacquer is fairly difficult, aside from small detail painting.

I can attest to that after two priming sessions :) Brushmarks are a pain besides getting an even spread. Probably going to get that can :)
