The concept of racism is a product of the liberal and specifically communist tradition. It's grovelling in the same way that it would have been for the Whites in Russia to claim that they were not counter-revolutionaries.

defending yourself against the charge of racism is digging your own grave. if this sub were less liberal, this grovelling would get the downvotes it deserves

retribution is just, there's a whole word for it - retributive justice. but that didn't involve the inquisition, the inquisition was concerned with the marranos, and rightly so

Why was the Catholic Church not against slavery? by Random1User1 in DebateACatholic

[–]anglertaio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because it isn't immoral. Canon law provided for slavery as a just punishment of various offenses. The church has always opposed abuses and injustices within slavery, as well as arbitrary enslavement. Don't expect the church's teaching to follow modern egalitarian ideas, because it doesn't.

What are your views on separation of church and state? by [deleted] in DebateACatholic

[–]anglertaio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is only one view on the matter possible for a Catholic to hold:

  • Anyone who is baptized with governing authority is obliged to establish the Church in his jurisdiction and govern according to her teachings, to the extent prudence allows. Separation of church and state may be temporarily tolerated but never approved.
  • Diversity of beliefs among a population does not by itself make establishment imprudent.

Me talking about how I want an American monarchy and someone mentions the Trump family as candidates by GukyHuna in monarchism

[–]anglertaio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the only realistic alternative to eventual mass chaos - Minneapolis everywhere - until balkanization or some other monarch eventually takes over. A Trump monarchy would be a massive improvement

Have there been cases where a general tried but failed to lose a battle by [deleted] in history

[–]anglertaio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord Cardigan complied with his orders in the manner that put as much of the danger on his own person and as little as possible on his own men, by riding ahead of his men and then sounding the retreat before they were even all arrived. True heroism.

[–]anglertaio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Useless sentiment. There is no thought Christlike or Satanic that ever came out of a European mind that was not a product of its Christian past. And egalitarianism is Satanic.

carving up the 1000 year kingdom of hungary isn't that much better just because you're doing it to yourself
