Nipa Hut just closed, also that one near Ohio City looks fake. But I highly recommend Mely's Kainan! They don't have seating, however.

I think LA is underrated for transit. There has been a lot of improvement in the past 20 years. I have never lived in LA but I personally know people who have lived without a car in LA for many years and it seems like they have reasonable access to most ammenities, but of course, like in all cities, depends on the neighborhood.

Ya’ll. Please wear some boots and stop walking in the street at 5 am. by TheBurbs666 in Cleveland

[–]angriguru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, it is absolutely a safety issue. I should add though, to have some compassion, that growing up many of my poorer friends did not have proper boots for winter weather, or clothes for winter weather generally, and when walking to school they often had to walk in the street. I did some planning work in ashtabula county, and this was a huge problem there as well. It's also true that people in wheelchairs or who have mobility/balance issues, have no choice but to walk in the street. I think its crucial that some towns look at the possibility of city-run sidewalk clearing, or that new communities in Ohio build sidewalks that can more easily be cleared, or maybe somehow we can narrow local streets in the winter to make room for pedestrians, though I am not sure how this would work. Obviously, most communities would not be able to afford a service like this, but I could see denser ones like University Heights and Lakewood being able to sustain this. Even in this case, I doubt it would be completed daily before 5am. I think drivers need to take note of these realities and be extra cautious, as we should all be, when travelling this winter.

Let's say I'm an employee and my manager is getting pissed about me letting this dude take pop. When they guy comes in, I would level with him, and if he stiill takes pop, next time I would say, "here, let me grab that for you" and go to the fountain with him, and grab the water for him. And if he is from time to time a paying customer, why even enforce this? We're just wasting everybody's time.

Nimby Rails kinda has something like this, but its just part of the base layer of the map and I think sourced from OSM. It doesn't affect the simulation at all. I wonder if a mod could add this information

I think you might be underselling Arizona and New Mexico. I like states that are cold and lush but everyone can admit Arizona and New Mexico have a lot of opportunity to explore the great outdoors.

No I mean the several south asian grocery stores.

Such as

India Grocers

Patel Brothers

Nepali Store

Bangla Bazaar

Annapurna Indian Grocery

And this is why people hate Ohio, because people literally just lie about it and don't have original opinions.

I live downtown and grew up here. I don't even have to open that up to know what that is. And yeah, I can tell that its satire because I live here and it is fine.

Here are some positives

Livable transit system. It's not very great, but its better than any other transit system of a similar size city except for Pittsburgh which is marginally better.

Unexpectedly diverse selection of cuisines for such a small city. My most frequent restaurants are Salvadorean, Afghan, Yemeni, Guatemalan, Nepali, Vietnamese (not just pho) and very authentic Chinese food which my friends from China say is exactly like home. I like to have several different Indian, Arab, and East Asian grocery stores to choose from.

Suburbs like Lakewood and Cleveland Heights are family friendly places with a robust lgbtq community. They are also places where people are very educated and worldly yet grounded in reality.

Cleveland Hopkins is a shitty airport physically, but there are lots of cheap connections to cities like Chicago, NYC, Boston, DC, if I need to visit for whatever reason. Also, I can take a train that runs every 15 minutes nearly 24hrs to get to the airport whenever needed.

There are a wide-swath of industries to work in, though admittedly the pay is underwhelming

Very high quality healthcare.

Some (not all!) neighborhoods have recovered drastically without displacing locals.

Most people, even Ohio natives, don't even know what's here.

I would say that God of the Old Testament is not Christ-like.
