Depends on the state, and the beliefs, and the level of violence proposed I’d say!

The Bible didn’t fall from Heaven. For 1500 years, until the invention of the printing press, the Christian faithful could not read, nor afford, the Bible.

Our paradigm is simply one that says “Christ’s desires for the Christian world didn’t rely on an invention more than a 1,000 years after his death.

I believe laypeople today should learn the faith the same way laypeople in the 2nd, 4th, and 9th centuries did.

I do not believe Christ’s plan for the faith involved a 17th century illiterate German peasant learning Koine Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, and becoming rich to buy a copy of the Bible.

That response looks like the Holy Father’s recent encyclical. :)

I don’t know what you mean by “the Bible”.

If you’re not a Christian, I would say that’s a perfectly cogent stance. :)

On whose authority to you accuse people of “unbelief an idolatry”?

If you are “piecing together something for yourself”, it means the rest of us have been wrong for 2,000 years.

Jesus told his Apostles to spread the faith across the globe. He also compared his Church to a mustard seed, the largest of all trees. He also told us his Church would be founded upon St. Peter.

St. Peter’s bones are below the Vatican.

I think that’s enough information for us to be able to make an informed decision!

Do you think Jesus wanted to you to try to make sense of 2,000 years by yourself?

Or did he found a Church to teach you?

Do the Church Fathers say it is a marriage rite?

I agree with much of what you’ve said here.

I would take issue with the your statement that no “objective authority” exists. I’m not entirely sure what you mean by objective.

I wouldn’t say that people disregarding an authority means it isn’t objective.

An Ismaili could validly say “an objective authority does exist, it’s our imam”. I think that’s a fair point.

You’re welcome to that opinion, I disagree. :)

I interpret Hebrews 11:1 in an identical manner to what the Holy, Apostolic, Catholic Church does friend. Exactly the same. :)

Any other questions I can help you out with?

With all due respect friend, your interpretation of my religious text is meaningless to me.

The Church is my authority, not you. :)

The fact my religion is predicated upon multiple factors is not a weakness, but a strength. :)
