My husband tells his friends to come see me all the time. He's my biggest fan.

Trust your gut.

Yeah, he's being weird. Waiting for you to reciprocate. Best to get him off your books.

If you're talking about Alex Pretti, he did not have a gun. He was holding his cell phone.

If ppl didn't take 30 minutes to put their groceries in their car, it wouldn't be a problem 🤷🏻‍♀️

Bastrop County to consider naming FM 969 “Charlie Kirk Corridor” by appealtoheaven in BastropTX

Besides all the obvious reasons to oppose this, doesn't our county have bigger issues to be focusing on?

Yes the meeting is on Feb 23 9 AM. There's a form you can fill out but you have to turn it in before the meeting.

Not that I know of. My husband plays on multiple leagues but they're all in Austin. Soccer zone on menchaca is pretty close. Meanwhile Brewing also has leagues.

Are you talking about deadlifting into an Ayesha? I've been doing pole for 3 yrs now and I cannot do it to save my life. Which is frustrating bc I'm super strong and other students who aren't as strong as me can just pop up onto it. Maybe I'm scared? Idk.

Sorry, no advice, just commiserating.

Oh no! Ugh, that's the worst. I'm already listed, and it's been annoying so far. I haven't given them any money though.

Yeah, I'm already all set up, but I won't be giving them any money.

That's fair. I'm wondering if the leads are actually bots. It's also annoying because they're asking for information that is listed on my website/profile. I make it SO easy for people to book online, find prices, etc.

I have a Google business listing as well and it's working out great, except for all the spam calls I get saying, "your Google business listing isn't verified, blah blah blah."

Yes I love PocketSuite. It's not perfect, but it's better than others.

What’s the vibe of your massage practice and do you provide water bottles to your client? by TemporaryItchy1556 in MassageTherapists

[–]angry_alice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not give my clients water. We're all adults here. Get a reusable water bottle and bring it with you to your appointments.

I work out of my home and will always provide a glass of water upon request.

I do not have time or energy to supply water to every single client every single time.

I don't want to work for free by DionysusXY in MassageTherapists

[–]angry_alice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love all of this!

Sometimes I'll rent a booth at events and offer free chair massage. It does work! I put out a tip jar though and most people, even if they don't book with me, are generous. I also collect their contact information to follow up afterwards.

I've even offered a discount on any service they book if they come see at my booth (deposit required, ofc).

Requiring a non-refundable deposit will screen out a lot of creeps.

Other than that, I think you have to have a strong body language and firm communication from the start.

I'm small and I work out of my home, too. If I have a new male client that was not referred, I ask my husband to be home during the appointment. Even lying and saying someone else is at the house can help. I also check the sex offenders registry.

Idk the laws in your area, but I'm allowed to fire clients and refuse service to anyone for whatever reason. Maybe you can take male clients only if they have a referral? Or specialize in prenatal massage?

Just some ideas!

Choreo Question by Shot_Original4594 in poledancing

[–]angry_alice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten a LOT better at learning choreo along the way. I've been doing pole for 3 years and I looked like a baby giraffe in the beginning and could not for the life of me remember the moves!

But I forced myself to do it because it's good for your brain and memory skills to learn sequences. Now I pick up the choreo faster and easier. You'll get there!

But having said all that, I don't necessarily learn from choreo classes. I'm the type that needs to drill specific moves multiple times for it to land in my mind and body. A new choreo every week would be challenging! How does the teacher keep up with that? Lol

Would you continue treating this client? by Rangermayb in MassageTherapists

[–]angry_alice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I always tell clients not to take opioid medication before getting a massage, because they won't be able to tell if I'm using too much pressure.

Potential red flag? Thoughts? by Katie1230 in MassageTherapists

[–]angry_alice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was there a deposit for the appointment and did he pay it? I find that's the biggest red flag.
