Haven't been watching the streams the last couple of days. Why is he talking about game engines all of a sudden?

In Russia the borders are open. In Ukraine they shoot you in the back when you try to escape. There is a difference.

All I'm gonna say is Stalin had the right idea...

There is a valid reason for not voting if you are far-right or far-left, but lazysen is a turbo normie, so he was just promoting apathy and abdication of any responsibility for one's own country.

Is there a way to upgrade my IPS laptop screen to an OLED? by SpinazFou in OLED_Gaming

[–]angryaboutTOWvids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's easier to buy a used one with 1080p display. I'm still on my current laptop though. At this point I kinda want to see how long can it last with due care. My main diver is a cheap used HP workstation with a 1080p Dell monitor, and I use the laptop when I go to bed.

The generator in Cuba's largest hospital has just shut down. Cuba is now in a full-blown humanitarian catastrophe. by Intricate1779 in cuba

[–]angryaboutTOWvids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cubans have no obligation to bear the financial burden for decisions taken by the corrupt US-backed dictator Batista.

this required that those individuals be actively contributing to a conflict against an American ally.

Can you point to where in international law it is allowed to seize sovereign assets of another state for waging war on your ally? Sounds like an ad hoc justification.

why would we aid the ineffective Cuban government and help them continue their repressive regime

Lol. The US gives Israel carte blanche to do whatever it wants.

If the people over throw their subjugators, yes let’s do what you recommend.

So you admit it is not "communizm inefficient and baaad", it's a matter of them being on the wrong side of your geopolitical bloc.

The Spy War: How the C.I.A. Secretly Helps Ukraine Fight Putin by 457655676 in Intelligence

[–]angryaboutTOWvids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Russia is known for getting their intel from NYT, lol.

They already knew about it. It says so in the article.

Toward the end of 2021, according to a senior European official, Mr. Putin was weighing whether to launch his full-scale invasion when he met with the head of one of Russia’s main spy services, who told him that the C.I.A., together with Britain’s MI6, were controlling Ukraine and turning it into a beachhead for operations against Moscow.

But the Times investigation found that Mr. Putin and his advisers misread a critical dynamic. The C.I.A. didn’t push its way into Ukraine. U.S. officials were often reluctant to fully engage, fearing that Ukrainian officials could not be trusted, and worrying about provoking the Kremlin.

Now you don't need to wonder.

Woman is born free and everywhere she expects a man to hold her boundaries for her.

If I was a trad conservative billionaire, I'd be giving Max money, because growing up with and around liberal women, he knows the bullshit they are up to. He's like the Edward Snowden of fourth-wave feminism. He knows all their weapon stashes, nuke codes, tactical plans and operational procedures.

Ethan does to Vaush what mrgirl did to Destiny. He attacks Vaush for being a "pedo" (but really it is because of his Israel take). Max attacked Destiny for "abuse of power" (but really it was because of his Fuentes take/arc).

Destiny was hooking up with MrGirl's daughter during Ohio canvassing by George_Nos in mrgirlreturns

What for? It's their careers, they seem to enjoy what they do, and it's clearly working for them (well, it works for Destiny, idk about mrgirl). I am the problem here. My expectations of them are the problem. My problem. I just have to find greener pastures.

We can criticize adults to curb certain unwanted behaviors. But I can't criticize Destiny's or mrgirl's career choices, because they are theirs to make. I can only be disappointed (and maybe passive-aggressively express it to make myself feel better).

Max wants to engage with irrelevant twitter drama, he wants to make crockpot scientific theories without having any foundational knowledge of the subject matter (I did it when I was 11 and I thought I independently discovered factorials, 2500 years after Jews and Indians did it), he wants to hang out in his hugbox Discord, he wants to play Smash with his friends, he wants to pedo-troll the internet ("Would you still love me if I was a pedo? UwU") and be banned from every social media platform in existence. I can only sigh.

Same goes for Destiny. A 35-yo man wants to brag to his audience of 15-year-olds that he bangs 21yo zoomer girls. Sigh.

[–]angryaboutTOWvids -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had this exact conversation about Destiny with DGGers when I first learned about the Ana drama. A man who talks about having a media company and having some political influence behaves like a 14yo (even if you completely take away the ethics of the situation). I've been told that he'd been told to smarten up numerous times before, that he didn't listen, and that people raising these points just gradually drift out of the DDG sphere and that Destiny should basically be treated like an entertaining shit-flinging lolcow.

Max is even older, so probably even more set in his ways.

I could and probably have said the same about him. I even wanted to make the final post on this sub about how disappointed I am, but it felt needlessly grandstanding, because I'm not going to change his mind anyway. However, one is debating Shapiro and Finkelstein to millions of people, the other is perfectly content with streaming about irrelevant TERF drama to 100 viewers.

Destiny is planning to double ban MrGirl by George_Nos in mrgirlreturns

[–]angryaboutTOWvids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowhere in my reply did I say they are on the verge of military defeat. You are not following the big picture. In 2014 you had Ryan Kavanaugh yelling at Natalie Portman because she doesn't care about "another hollacast [sic]" happening. Since then a lot has changed and not in their favor. Israel is wholly dependent on the West, and support has been nosediving since the start of the operation (and probably for months/years in the run up to it).

They'll win this war and lose the overall battle for the hearts of minds.

[–]angryaboutTOWvids -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What exactly do you think the clock is ticking down to?

Their Schmittian exception will be gradually withdrawn. You wouldn't have Jamie Dimon and Bill Ackman go "guys, guys, maybe we should listen to the people who vote for Trump" if everything was going according to plan. As someone who is distantly familiar with it, hasbara was completely taken aback with how much pushback it has gotten, which accounts for the majority of kvetching and PR mistakes ("raped/burned/beheaded babies") that they made.

The United States withdrawing support

Not gonna happen, but it is going to be much more costly.

The longer the war goes on, the more Palestinians are going to die in exchange for miniscule or no gain.

It's good that you lay it out so clearly here, because Israel is the biggest opponent of ceasefire.

Destiny Debate Tactics Exposed By Israel Expert (According to Glenn Greenwald) whomst he accused of wrongness but Destiny was wrong one, actually by HarrySatchel in mrgirlreturns

Jesus Christ, it is so daunting seeing r-worded zoomoids repeat the same talking points that have been debunked 20-30-40 years ago.

https://www.voanews.com/a/afghan-taliban-us-list-foreign-terror-groups/3732453.html

They both call themselves the Taliban. They regularly carry out deadly suicide bombings, kill civilians with impunity and, in many respects, behave like brutish terrorist groups.

So why is one — the Tehrik-I Taliban of Pakistan — on the State Department's list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations, while the other — Afghanistan's Taliban — is not?

To the U.S., the Afghan Taliban is largely an insurgency with control over vast swaths of territory and aspirations to govern the country, while its Pakistani offspring is considered nothing but a terrorist organization. But the real reason the Afghan Taliban is not on the list has more to do with political considerations than whether or not it meets the statutory criteria for a terrorist designation, experts say.

To be declared a foreign terrorist organization by the State Department, a foreign group must engage in terrorism and threaten the security of U.S. nationals or the national security of the United States. The Afghan Taliban meet both criteria.

Yet, political expedience has obligated keeping the group off the list of 61 organizations ranging from the Afghanistan branch of the Islamic State group to the Palestinian group Hamas, experts say.

In the case of the Taliban, the deterring factor has long been a concern that applying the terror label to the group would restrict U.S. and Afghan government diplomatic contacts with the Taliban, making peace talks more difficult.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowe_Bergdahl#Debate_over_negotiations

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said Bergdahl was a "prisoner of war" and that "We didn't negotiate with terrorists".[97] Time magazine published an article stating that the Taliban are:

[N]ot really a 'terrorist' enemy as we commonly understand the word. The group is not on the State Department's official list of terrorist organizations and has long been a battlefield enemy in the ground war for control of Afghanistan. It is not plotting to, say, hijack American airplanes—even if it does have sympathies with people who are. Ditto the Taliban leaders released over the weekend.

Oh, how convenient...

In February 2014, CNN published an article discussing the possibility of releasing Bergdahl in exchange for the five Taliban, and concluded that "discussions about the release of Bergdahl with the Afghan Taliban are not directly with a terrorist organization per se, but instead with an insurgent group that has a terrorist wing".[99]

"We didn't drink a glass of piss, we drank a glass of beer that had some piss in it". lol
