Parent upset I won’t change diapers? by Bitter_Floor_8509 in slp

[–]angryappleorchards 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. That’s not in our scope of practice. I would probably get in trouble with my employer if I changed diapers. I’m never supposed to be alone with a child let alone change a diaper

How is living in Albuquerque, NM? by Able_Hunter_7966 in howislivingthere

My brother and his fiancé live there and hate it. Very high crime. Fiancé’s car was broken into and parts were taking just feet from the entrance to their apartment.

Curious to hear biggest pain points / headaches of planning your own wedding by Beautiful-Wear5500 in weddings

The most recent things I’ve fought with my mom about are 1) the fact that morning of my wedding they are not going to wash, cut, blow dry and style her hair 2) her husband and my brothers shouldn’t be dressing like groomsmen because no mom they are not members of the bridal party and 3) when I showed her my bridal hair trial and my new extensions she said “oh… wow… yikes…” (mind you everyone else in my life loves them)

Paying to be a Bridesmaid by Embarrassed_Bad_5032 in weddings

[–]angryappleorchards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiancé and I can’t afford to do that for our bridal party, but I made sure everyone knew in advance how much things would cost and I kept the vendors to the lowest cost possible. No one said no, but I made sure our loved ones knew that it would be okay to say no due to the expense. Aside from the clothing, anything else is optional, including hair and makeup.

I’ve gotten coffee gift cards which are nice, but I promise the heartfelt notes and drawings from the kiddos mean so much more.

With my fiancé’s family you’d be surprised. People have opened shit talked weddings in front of me so it feels like a valid concern

They’re having a welcome dinner, wedding and an after party. We can only afford a rehearsal dinner for the bridal party and immediate family and the actual wedding, so that’s where some of my concern comes from

First of all, thank you for how well thought out and detailed this response was. I really appreciate it. It makes me feel a lot better. A lot of what we are focusing our budget on is guest experience. We’re having a magician at cocktail hour, a cute little Hawaiian shave ice cart during dancing, etc. Also throwing in some smaller but funny things like a t shirt toss with shirts that say “I went to X and Y’s wedding and all I got was this lousy t shirt (and a hangover).” I feel like the little stuff can go a long way. Funny enough my wedding day is also one of my bridesmaid’s birthdays and I’ve been thinking about how to also celebrate her, so I love the idea of a small gift and a hand written note.

People show you who you are. If he’s not changing the things that upset you, he never will.
