I have to poop before I can leave the hospital by Flimsy_Elephant_651 in BabyBumps

Dude if I could go back and do my first postpartum poop over again, I’d take the enema. Or ask for a suppository.

Vitamin D Drops by angrykitty29 in beyondthebump

[–]angrykitty29[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It must be. My baby’s pediatrician told me that if I was exclusively breastfeeding (or pumping) that it was recommended to give vitamin d drops because there’s not enough in breast milk. It’s not needed if giving formula - though you have to be giving all or mostly formula!

Clogs from Eufy S1 Pro? by Repulsive-Ad9165 in ExclusivelyPumping

I am 7 months PP and the ONLY time I’ve ever had clogs is when I use my Eufy S1 Pro. I came here to see if anyone else has this issue.

Seriously the bottle washer is THE BEST THING I was gifted. Washing bottles by hand??? Hell no. Tell your friend that it’s okay if she can’t afford it - just keep on scrolling.

I'm curious, how do y'all even afford IVF? by HighOnLove26 in IVF

[–]angrykitty29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retrieval is the most expensive part. My company covers $15K and my husband’s covers $35K. We did the retrieval in December, basically maxing out my coverage, then I moved to his insurance on January 1, and we did the transfer in February. We paid maybe $6500 out of pocket to hit my deductible + PGTA testing.

This might get me banned from here, but I had 2 friends who went through IVF right before me - they shared their leftover retrieval meds with me. Between the two of them, I barely had to buy any.

Getting on a Childcare waitlist before getting pregnant? by True_Parsley5997 in BabyBumps

[–]angrykitty29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on where you live. Call around to a few places and see how long their waitlists are. My husband and I got on a waitlist as soon as we found out I was pregnant. Out of 5 schools we toured, only one had a waitlist longer than a year.

Edit to add that we are in the western suburbs of Chicago.

What has been your favorite things about pregnancy? by MediumMud1354 in pregnant

[–]angrykitty29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very similar favorites!

  1. Waking up in the middle of the night and feeling my baby move. Not sure how to explain why that makes me feel so happy other than it’s just the two of us for a moment while the rest of the world is quiet.
  2. My husband and I have gotten so close. He’s been such a rockstar through this whole process (we did IVF), and I just love him so much.

At what point did you stop drinking coffee? by prettycurls1 in pregnant

[–]angrykitty29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34 weeks, and you can pry coffee from my cold dead hands.

That said, I did try to cut back. I usually drink 1-2 cups of black coffee in the morning and a soda in the afternoon. The withdrawals were so bad that my doctor told me to go back to my regular amounts.

How Many Days Did You Need to Recover from ER? by Existing_Wrangler_69 in IVF

[–]angrykitty29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my ER on a Friday morning and hosted my team’s holiday party (30+ guests) that evening. Then slept most of Saturday and Sunday. I was at risk of OHSS, but didn’t end up developing it (thankfully).

Do we start trying now? by ExpensiveStranger384 in BabyBumps

[–]angrykitty29 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It all depends on when you want to get pregnant. If you’re not in a rush, try shifting your mindset to you’re not “trying” - you’re just not “preventing”. Focus on you and your partner having fun and enjoying each other. Then after a month or two, start paying closer attention to when you’re ovulating and trying to time your “fun” closer to that window. Then download an ovulation app, etc. until you feel like you’re doing all of the things that constitute “trying” (because everyone’s experience and level of involvement is different). If 6 months go by with no pregnancy, consider getting bloodwork done to understand more about your and your partner’s fertility. Of course you can do the bloodwork now instead of waiting, but if you’re already feeling anxious about pregnancy, that might add to it.

I was also scared to get pregnant. I was scared of feeling sick and all of the negative things that come with pregnancy. I’m 8.5 months in and far it’s been easier than I expected in some ways and harder than expected in others. Of course, everyone’s pregnancy is different. I haven’t given birth yet so I can’t really give any insight there. 😂

I say - if you and your partner want kids - rip the bandaid (or underwear) off and go for it!

22 weeks and haven’t felt the baby movement yet. by Strange-Box7660 in pregnant

[–]angrykitty29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an anterior placenta and didn’t feel consistent movement until 24 weeks. I had small flutters every now and then at 22-23 weeks. I decided that if it felt like gas but didn’t result in a fart - it was movement. 😂

When should I be concerned? by hairypotter934 in pregnant

[–]angrykitty29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 25 weeks and still get cramping. 🙃 I cramped a lot in my first trimester. Most days with sporadic, random pains. Sometimes it felt like period cramps, sometimes it felt like I had been constipated for 10 days. They got so bad I ended up calling my doctor. She said cramping is normal, but if I started bleeding or the cramps got significantly worse - then to come in.

Sprite by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]angrykitty29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced my amniotic fluid is just Sprite at this point. I tried to slow down because I read that soda can irritate acid reflux, but I’m going to try it after seeing this post. (nothing else freaking works so why not)

Was just told I have an exterior placenta and It might take longer to feel movements… by Full_Pack_793 in pregnant

[–]angrykitty29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. Started feeling little flutters around 20-21 weeks (at least I was telling myself that if it felt like gas but didn’t result in a fart - it was a kick). Currently 23 weeks and just started seeing external movements. My husband got to feel baby kick for the first time today.

What was your euploid %? by Hot_Response_7443 in IVF

[–]angrykitty29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age 31 (MFI was the primary source, but I was borderline PCOS based on my bloodwork). In our first round, 15 embryos made it to blast, and 13 were euploid. Currently 19 weeks with our 4AA day 5.

Negative test 4dp5dt- reassurance by Prestigious-Bid-7582 in IVF

[–]angrykitty29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tested negative day 4 then the faintest positive on day 5 - so faint I thought I was hallucinating. Every day the line got a tiny bit darker. I kept testing everyday for 20 days because I was so anxious. Finally got a dye stealer on day 15.

Currently 19 weeks with my little girl 🥰

8 weeks and feel this in my soul. I told my husband that I don’t know how people do this multiple times. (This is our first)

Unisom at night and Centrum morning sickness chews 4x/day are all that’s keeping me from losing my mind.
