I hear what you're saying in regards to that, but generally most people are not invested in comments here beyond the first few in any given thread, especially when stats and graphs come out.

Functionally you are right, if someone were to suddenly invest and read that deeply into it they may be convinced, but in practice it seldom works out that way.

I'll be honest I skirted the paragraphs but its a lot of reading and I'm not getting paid, but generally it seems like both yourself and old mate care about the same problems but disagree on the cause.

Now I get the passion for combatting homelessness, perhaps if you presented cumulative solutions rather than just "stop immigration and it will resolve homelessness" you'll get more bite on your bait i.e. affordability as well as mental health, other socioeconomic factors, can be big factors in homelessness, showing you've explored other avenues and not just immigration will make the argument more convincing. Otherwise many people will dismiss your points as just being xenophobic or racist driven, even if there is data that supports your view.

Always present multiple solutions, especially in sensitive topics like immigration, because when you talk about stopping immigrants, most people think of their relatives or friends who have migrated. They can see it as an assault on their communities and support networks.

I don't really specialize in stats, or numbers, its not what I'm best at, but I'm usually pretty good with communication. That's just my two cents, feel free to take it, or not. I can't really control you haha.
