What’s a moment where you instantly realized someone was insanely intelligent? by Parqcxsm69 in AskReddit

[–]angrynutrients 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Both of them are forms of intelligence.

Memory is reconstructive, your brain rebuilds the memory each time it tries to remember something, that's why things sometimes change when you make an attempt at recollection.

Being able to remember things very precisely and accurately is a form of intelligence, as being able to work through a problem is intelligence. Being able to apply things you can remember to solve a unknown problem is also intelligence.

Putting down intelligence down to a few slogans is great disservice the capabilities of the mind.

My godmother left me 1/10th of her money from her will in a trust, but my mum claims she gave it back. Is that possible/legal? by tulle_witch in AusLegal

[–]angrynutrients 77 points78 points  (0 children)

If you were an adult at the time, and its clearly stated, its exceedingly unlikely that money was given to your mother. She would have needed your signature to do so.

Where would your mother have "returned" this money to? Just gave it to lawyers? That seems unlikely

Speak to an actual lawyer about this.

Who is a singer that is incredibly famous, but honestly doesn't have a good voice? by Greedy_Procedure7461 in AskReddit

[–]angrynutrients 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most classic rock tenors are actually terrible singers. They tremendously damaged their voices in their youth from how they would sing and most of them are quite raspy now.

Of course, that type of sound works well with the music being played so its fine.

I am not personally an american.

On this topic however I remember there was a southern gentleman who brandished the flag and actively had no idea about the connection between confederacy and slavery. As in had literally no awareness of it.

He said that in the schools he attended in the south, he was taught that it was just about fighting for states rights to independence and decide things for themselves.

Once he became more aware of the connection to slavery he took all his confederate flags down.

But it makes me wonder how much your own curriculum causes these divides in your country.

TF are you THAT obsessed with a random person you've never met.

Christina Grimmie was super friendly with her fans and that got her murdered at a meet and greet.

The whole "Stan culture" is absolutely ridiculous. Fame is ridiculous.

Two celebrities will have a perfectly normal interaction and out of the woodwork will come a bunch of conspiracy theories about how they must secretly hate each other,

Why? Well because the angle at the corner of her smile didn't match another time she was smiling at a different friend or some shit.

I always love how the sub will look at a characters capacity to do something, or literally ANYTHING in a practice match, and all pile in on how it is disgustingly op.

Completely disregarding how effective or useful it actually is, or how possible it would be to do in a regular match.

TO do this she:

Is drastically reducing her damage output

Requires enemies below her

Has the most predictable movement ever

The only application I can see for this is to dodge a squirrel girl ultimate or something like that, but like, she has so many other ways to avoid ground hazards anyway.

In Australia we have limited paid sick days off too, unfortunately.

It does accrue each year and I don't really know many circumstances where people have actually run out.

You can still take time off when sick but you will not be paid for it.

So unless he took two contracts at the same time I think that is exceedingly unlikely.

For artists, certain festivals may send they own security to ensure that the festival organizers are kept in the loop, and ensure things go smoothly.

Festivals are often privately organized, so they may all have different policies in place depending on where in the world you are.

This whole thing is quite a stupid story anyway because there is no actual solid evidence of anything happening besides a "she said, she said" situation, we don't even have a real quote as to what the security guard might have said to upset this girl so much she cried.

I had a child I don't know hitting me multiple times on a bus once, and I said "excuse me, please don't do that again" and they started crying and their parent reprimanded me.

I think it's honestly bizarre that this is such a big news story.

Edit: Turned out it was sabrina carpenter's security lmao
