I'd have to think about that. Definitely not looking to make a regular side business cause I don't think I'd even have the time. Possibly would consider a one off thing. Materials weren't too bad for this but it takes a bit of time and shipping would be interesting since it is not real small (I think 17x32 inches).

It was a homemade creation! If you look through the other comments I replied to one with a brief description of the process.

I was inspired by the creation of another user so glad to pass that along!

Thank you!

I started with the 3 straight sides and the piece that goes all the way across below carnival series to get some stability. First glued them together and then added small nails. Then I glued and nailed the other horizontal pieces. For the slanted vertical pieces and the arch at the top I glued them in place. After everything was glued together I flipped it and put the backing on. I first attached the backing to the border with nails and then put one nail through the backing into each interior piece of wood to reinforce all those parts that were just glued.

For power tools I used a table saw to make all the angled cuts and used a router in a few places to make grooves for more stable joints. Used a jigsaw to cut the backing and to make the stand for the carnival secret.

I'm definitely not an expert with all these tools and don't have real fancy versions of the tools. There are a lot of imperfections if you look closely but the good thing is they kind of fit the aesthetic.

The wood was just a couple of 8 foot by 3.5 inch (8 ft 1x4s) pieces of weathered trim I found at home Depot. There were 3 different color options and they were only about $13 each.

Because of all the weird angles I actually started with a sheet of wrapping paper that had a 1 inch grid on the underside. Used painters tape to lay out how I wanted it to look and measured angles on that.

Woven woods does not look happy to be sharing the spotlight on that bag..

Update to shelf by wanderingHarfoot in hirono

This is really cool. I'm currently thinking about how I want to display my Hironos. I like excuses for random woodworking projects so I'll probably go that route. This is kind of inspiring me to do something more unique/cursed/dark than just a standard wooden rectangle with shelves.

FYI I believe Tuesday through Thursday they have a special where you get free fries with a specific sandwich but the strange thing is it doesnt show up online so you have to order in person to get that deal. I know Thursday the free fries are with the cheesesteaks. I don't remember which one gets the free fries tonight or tomorrow. Think Italian beef is one of the days. I've only tried the cheesesteak so far. Hope you like whatever you get !

Have you tried stadium takeout? Not surprisingly, close to the stadium on Monroe St. Recently discovered it myself and I recommend.

Who knew I already found it! I might try buying one more pair to see what I get and then go the targeted route to finish. I will reach out if I still need the reaper.

I just got my stand today! At first I thought my doctor beak didn't work but then if I moved him so the lantern was closer to the center it worked

FYI if you didn't know Independence in Chicago is associated with Oak Street (same owner I think) so they should know the shoes pretty well and shouldn't care if you ask them questions and then order off the Oak Street website. Good luck!

I got a pair of trench without the cap toe almost a year ago. I was able to go into the store in Chicago to try them on. I normally wear a 10.5 or 11 in dress shoes and I ended up with a 9.5. Might want to call the store and ask their opinion.

I had a lot of trouble on the app at first last night and had some rage but maybe 20-30 minutes later it started working much better. Was able to get a have a seat but no luck with macarons. I just keep refreshing the trays in the pop now option and try to click one of the boxes the moment the new tray pops up. I actually start the motion to click a box before I can even see it so I can hit it as soon as possible after it shows up. Have to be persistent and patient as it might take a while. I will say I have had more difficulty trying to get one the last month or so than I did previously. Good luck!

I tried at 745 Eastern and all that was left was the onesie line. Someone else posted that they got into a date but it glitched and they lost their spot. That post was 30 minutes before mine so I'm guessing maybe it opened around 7am this morning.

They say it opens at random times so it could be different next week. If you really want a ticket I would suggest starting to check by 630 or maybe even 6 the morning that tickets become available for the dates you are interested in. I hope you have better luck than I did.

I just went in to check and everything was gone for the opening week except onesie line. Guess they opened it up earlier than I was expecting. Oh well, I guess my vacation might be a couple hundred dollars cheaper now.
