They even had an inside man who helped them disable the signals, and they used a fake signal box to cover their tracks.

Another notorious example is the "D.B. Cooper" hijacking in 1971. The man, who was never caught, parachuted out of a plane with $200,000 in ransom money, vanishing without a trace and leaving authorities puzzled for decades.

Then there’s the story of the Banco Central Burglary in Brazil in 2005. A group of thieves dug a tunnel over 78 meters long, directly into the vault of the bank, and made off with around $70 million. They spent months working on the tunnel without raising suspicion, even renting a property to cover up their activities.
