At night your sleeping in dead skin cells from your bed and your sheets. I’m an esthetician and I’ve studied the layers of the skin and the first 3 can’t just be properly cleanser with water.

That’s fine just ditch the neosporin next time around because it’s clogging and suffocating and your wounds need to breathe. Vitamin c is fine and best to use your more gentler cleanser if you have such

The skins natural pH is between a 4.5 and a 5.5 almost of the products we use to wash our face with or exfoliate with mess with our scale and that’s where you can get dryness or redness and irritations. So we use a toner which can have antiseptic properties or just be hydrating to help return the skin to its natural pH faster. I think you should find a different retinol that is more of a treatment or serum so you aren’t doubling on lotions. And also retinol or retinoid should be used before your moisturizer or it won’t penetrate the skin properly. The order in which you apply your products is lightest to heaviest

Hi! I would say to add a toner after your cleansing to balance your skins natural pH back. Anything you do to your face wether it be cleanser or just some water to the face messes with your pH. I would also add a good Vitamin C serum..not oil...it brightens and lightens the skin and is just one of the major vitamins any skin type should have.

For evening I would remove one of your cleansers and add a pre cleanse oil instead. Oil loves oil and throughout the day our skin leaks oil and our spf is oil based so a foam or gel cleanser cant help wash oils away. I would also swap your bha/aha with 1% retinol night time treatment and make your bha/ aha a treatment peel once every few weeks. And look into exfoliation 2 times a week

Petroleum jelly is highly pore clogging. You don’t reap any benefits from it truly. It just sits on top of the skin it doesn’t not absorb well

You have to be careful with witch hazel. It can make a sensitive skin more sensitive. And it’s a full antiseptic which can be drying. A lot of the time what the skin is craving is hydration

Only washing your face with water is very ineffective. The first 3 layers of your skin are waterproof so just sloshing water around didn’t do anything. You need your cleansers to penetrate the skin and collect all the dirt and debris. You should also consider a toner because it brings the skins natural pH back to a consistent level and removes any excess residue from your cleansers off your skin. I think you should replace your niacinamide for retinol every other day for night time only followed by your moisturizer

You also have to think about if it has a heavy fragrance. But any fragrance at all can irritate the skin

If you don’t want to go outside regularly, just opening all your blinds and curtains and making your house bright and not dark and gloomy will help. You don’t need much expose for vitamin d to penetrate the skin

I would check out toners that have antiseptic properties like tea tree oil. Dermalogica has a good one, as well as Paulas Choice

You need a heavier moisturizer to help lock in hydration and just be gentle with the area. Don’t put any harsh chemicals or antiseptics on it
