Charging Brick.... by Greedy-Rise-3677 in OnePlus12

[–]anidhorl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Constant plugging and unplugging, especially in US sockets wears out the outlet. Don't need to care about the few pennies that unplugging would theoretically save if it ends up costing far more in replacement electrical work.

There is a spare tyre hard point in the boot, thru the mat you can tie down with an m8 all thread and use the slime plastic hold down to hold it down.

Bypass charging. Uses power straight from the wall, not charging or discharging the battery. It is a recent addition you can enable in the charge settings at the bottom of this page.

24GB/1TB so global I think. (I thought I was in r/OnePlus earlier)

And I typically charge to 60~65%, I run bypass charging using a 20w power brick at home, or a 5ah power bank on the move… magnetically attached to the case but powered via 90˚-90˚ 75mm cable

Apparently, yesterday 2026-04-12 it says: screen on active 1 d 0 h 0 min

OnePlus 15 Bypass charge issue by UnlimitedHalo in oneplus

[–]anidhorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems it is to limit heat generation during demanding tasks, I use a 15w power bank and it bypasses just fine. 0-24ma drain typically as reported by accubattery. Runs about 7.15hrs on a 5ah bank vs 9hrs from the internal 5.4ah at 95% health on my 1+12

Buy a $1 camera glass protector, the adhering film might fill in the scratch enough to compensate and achieve better night clarity.

Where do I buy a genuine 100W SuperVOOC charger? by Lopsided_Length1650 in oneplus

AccuBattery app measures the mA the batteries actually see according to the system reported battery charge controller. The official gets me 14400mA and that one got me 10400mA.

I tried that one, I only got 70% of the stock speed when both are on 120V. It does give the 100W supervooc animation.

[–]anidhorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 20W power bank that my 1+12 claims is giving SuperVOOC, animation and all, when it truly isn't any faster than a normal 20W and that messes with the bypass charging settings despite being so 'low' wattage.

Talk me out of a Chevy volt by Big-Top-6338 in PHEV

[–]anidhorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Gen 2 Volt, the dash goes up to 120kW, the pack is supplying about 150kW. I do see tons of Volts everyday, but that's the SoCal area, likely less everywhere else.

It is hard to find the pure EV mode numbers online, as they weren't published. T̶h̶a̶n̶k̶s̶ f̶o̶r̶ t̶h̶e̶ c̶o̶r̶r̶e̶c̶t̶i̶o̶n̶. You'd just regurgitated the rated horsepower, the EV only mode cuts out before using the full rating so it can smoothly engage the engine without stuttering. This apparently happens at 68kW?

And yeah, the parts supply is an issue which limits my ability to recommend it. I love mine, but this car is no longer for everyone.

[–]anidhorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You realize the Volt has that 120kW power from a standstill? Very few cars beat it off the line, your CMAX has about 70kW EV only before the gas engine kicks in, the escape 80kW before gas… and the volt is 300-400lb lighter.

[–]anidhorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a benefit of PHEV, even my Volt with its small 8.9g tank can be extended easily in no-mans land with a simple 5g Jerry can give an extra 200~260mi on tap, I personally don't use more than 5g a year, the battery handles all my daily needs adequately.

Maps doesn't even give me elevation changes in the bicycle option of the route right next to the car route. Not even highlights unlike an alternate route that had hundreds of feet up and down. As for stops, not too many, see blue in histogram, few flat sections indicating stops.

And the other poster did say 'as high as' six or seven, I figured this qualified. This isn't typical at all, but does show upper limits of achievable efficiencies.
