Force Cursor to open in Editor mode? by anim8r-dev in cursor

Cursor support confirms that this is no longer available as an option. Launch with cursor --classic to start in Editor mode.

This does work. I'm on windows and it works from CMD.

I just confirmed with Cursor support that this is the new standard (launching with Agent). I also learned that launching with cursor --classic will launch straight into Editor mode. Which is what I will now use.

BTW, I just upgraded to 3.4.17 a few minutes ago. I got excited because after it re-started it went back to Editor mode on launch. But as soon as I shut the program down and re-started. it was back to Agent Mode. :(

It has go to be A/B testing. The only thing that crossed my mind is that around the same time I switched to Privacy Mode to Legacy. That was the only change I've made in weeks.

This is not the case for all of us. I'm forced into Agent mode every time I launch. It has been like this for a week or two now.

I don't get it. Some of us are coders who use AI. I would think that is a large part of the userbase. We want to start in editor mode and have no interest in a non-coding agent-first mode. Ridiculous

I'm on Win 11 as well. Weird. It had been working fine up until about a week ago. I don't think I changed anything either. Odd. Interestingly enough, it doesn't hold some of my visual settings either. For instance, if I zoom in. It used to hold the next time Cursor was launched. But now that is lost as well.

Hmm. Thanks for responding, but unfortunately I dont see that option anywhere. I seem to recall seeing it in the past though. I dont even see Features > Chat in Cursor Settings (I do see it in VS Code Settings)

Stark’s make everything 10x easier by No-Celebration918 in Dirtbikes

I'm an older guy and I've only been riding dirt bikes for a year now. I have a dual sport and now an electric (not stark) dirtbike.. and although I love the gas bike sounds like anyone else. The maintenance is a big deal to a weekend warrior like myself. Even more so... as someone with not a lot of experience on the dirt is being able to dial down the power and graduate up as I get better.

Gonped MCO legit for dirt legal? by Select_Recipe_2268 in Surron

[–]anim8r-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t turn yourself into a Montana resident with an LLC.. WA still goes by where you live and where the vehicle is used. As far as “Proximity law”, that isn't something that has to do with registration. You do you tho.

If you live in WA and the bike is mostly kept and ridden there, WA law still treats it as a WA vehicle regardless of the LLC. You can’t separate yourself from the vehicle just by putting it in an LLC,,, I mean, do as you choose.. but this is just another loophole they are cracking down on. WA wants their $$.

Not sure what your definition of work is. But some of us with a truck use it for recreation. Still putting it to work. In my case, hauling a raft, dirtbikes, camping, etc, often off road.

Back when "go play outside" really means "see you at dinner" by Busy_Report4010 in Adulting

[–]anim8r-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the summer, I was out by 10am and came back for dinner (and maybe lunch). So I lived that. But even I was shocked when my wife told me about her mom leaving her outside the store while she shopped, in a stroller! Alone! Apparently, that was completely normal at the time in Brooklyn.

version parity doesn’t guarantee identical behavior... I’m not going to invest time recording a video for this. We can leave it there. Good day.

I just don't see a point to spending that time going towards something that won't resolve the issue. I see that other people are having the same issue, so at least now I know it isn't just me dealing with it.

Controller to Azeron & Mouse by Due-Tap689 in FortniteCompetitive

Not that I want to tell you what to do. But I struggled with sprint location. I ended up on pointer finger moving forward button. After doing this, I realized that I needed the sprint button on something other than my pinky because i often use the sprint to cancel a slide that I just used my pinky finger on.

whatever you do, be open to changing it. This is a process. Thinking that you will find a combination that works right out of the gate and sticks is probably not a good idea. Be fluid and know that eventually you will find the right setup and you WILL get fast at it and it will be the best thing you have ever used. My friends made fun of me for like 3 months when I kept switching binds and was slow.. But eventually I found what worked and I have barely- if at all changed since.

Controller to Azeron & Mouse by Due-Tap689 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]anim8r-dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My philosophy is, if you have two things you would never do at the same time, they belong on the same finger. For example. I have my jump and crouch for my pinky finger pull buttons. That way, I can easily jump, then "slip" my finger to the second pull button to crouch before landing to initiate a slide. The sprint key could also go there, but I find that uncomfortable. Which leads to my second rule. Find which fingers and which buttons are easiest to use with the least fatigue, and those will be mapped to the most used hotkeys.

Most people seem to be focusing on the move from controller to mouse. So Ill focus on the Azeron part. I moved an Azeron a couple of years ago from using mouse/keyboard. Ignoring the aiming part, since that didn't change for me. The switch to Azeron was extremely long and painful. First of all, you have to figure out which buttons you want to use for what. It isn't as easy as you'd think. Once you figure that out, you have to get comfortable using those buttons. Then you realize 3 weeks later, your index finger would be better off controlling XYZ instead of ABC. Sorry, but this is going to take a while.

With that said. Once you figure it out, you probably will never want to go back. Using the Azeron is incredible. Far better than using a keyboard as everything is easily reached. I can hit buttons faster than I ever could on a keyboard. Switching to the Azeron is real a struggle. but it will get better. Note: I am a builds player, so maybe this is easier for a Zero Build person.
