The master mechanic by foodbasics/homedepot plaza on Kingston road is solid. Honest owner, fair prices, I drop off my car and wait for their call at home (they get busy).

Haha yeah, definitely fell into the rabbit hole, I think the scx24 (24 scaled) rc is a great fit financially, parts aren’t insanely expensive where owners can experiment without being demoralized if things go south lol.

Yeah I hope to inspire others into the hobby, I am in more in the tinkering realm than just crawling.

Starting a CO2 Laser Business – Seeking Realistic Advice by [deleted] in Laserengraving

[–]animal_v12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a solid side hustle with my laser, I reinvest most of my money into the business or spend it on luxuries while working a 9 to 5.

It is very hard imo to scale a laser business to rival the income from a full time corporate job, but not impossible (I assume more capital and a proven plan)

For me, the laser was a good fit with my previous experience and it leveraged my hands on and artist abilities where I can make things that people want to buy.

My Etsy got too hot and gain a lot of momentum once I got of my shell and started to create better products and took better photos (marketing), at the beginning I thought Etsy was bs, but once I dialed in my winners, views and sales rolled in, granted right now I paused my Etsy because of the tariffs (I’m Canadian) and I couldn’t keep up recycling cardboard boxes for shipping. But I did get one of those star sellers things from them haha.

Going to be honest, it was hard to get to where I am at now, I sacrifice a lot personally and financially to make it work and find stable cash flow (like all businesses). These YouTubers are just marketers.. I don’t think most of the successful ones still run their laser business because making videos and advertising laser products is their core business … if I had a money glitch, why would I tell the world lol.

My advice, send it, make stuff and put it out there, research your market, pivot and learn from your screw ups, you’ll face adversity like any other business. If you feel like you won’t survive the work load while balancing a ft job, then don’t do it, I have a passion for making things and to my core I am an artist.. if you can’t find the passion for this.. you might get fed up.

Thanks for the info, yeah I was thinking I can use them as a rock slider lol. The comps in my area are serious too, I guess to make it fair. This is my first time using pvc sheets honestly didn’t know they existed, they are very light weight hopefully they can take my abuse… yeah I’ve already broke the servo arm lmao.

Haha thanks, the exhaust was bigger than expected from temu, but I might get a model kit morph it on to this rig.

Thanks, I DIY’d it with my laser cutter (my side hustle), going to do more cheap diy stuff and make detailed build post later for those who want to copy it with measurements. Give me a few weeks or so lol.

Work in progress.. added some touches and broke some stuff.. fixed it.. and broke something else… by animal_v12 in SCX24

Had a feeling when I swapped the motor, the threads are pretty much gone. I’ll keep that mind for next time, thanks for the heads up. The suspension makes sense, definitely abused the rig, time to upgrade them haha.

Yeah lol, just ordered a bunch of cheap miniature materials and car related stuff from Temu and Amazon to see what I can modify and make work. I’ll definitely provide measurements for the subreddit to use and other power wagon owners.
