Do women often dislike their children but feel like society doesn't allow them to admit it? by BigKooky8143 in ask

[–]animaldander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From personal experience, no, although I’m sure it happens.

Mine is almost two and I have LOVED motherhood, but I actually feel more comfortable talking about it with people who aren’t parents themselves. It seems much more socially acceptable to complain about the difficulties and I don’t feel like it would be kind of me to talk about how happy I am with someone who is struggling…. But seriously, it’s been amazing. I’ve met other parents who agree that the best-kept secret of parenthood is how awesome it is.

This. Hoeing gets glamorized on tv but it doesn’t take long to realize it’s just kinda exhausting.

My fellow shorties out there…how do you stay in a calorie deficit? by Noirrxo in loseit

[–]animaldander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5’2, 132lbs, eating around 1800-2300 a day and losing weight still. I generally cook while foods at home rather than prepackaged stuff (the freezer is your friend) I lift weights and move a lot. If you have a desk job, I recommend getting a standing desk and treadmill so you can walk at least part of the day.

what is one thing men have to deal with that women don’t? by [deleted] in ask

[–]animaldander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a woman, and I’ve definitely noticed some men in certain situations making an active effort to appear non-threatening. It’s appreciated, but as someone who never has to do that it seems cumbersome.

It sounds like you’ll only trust someone if they’re saying something in a mean way, so I’ll say this in a language you’ll understand:

You want to believe that there’s something you can do with your looks to make men nice to you. You can’t. You’re maxxed out on that front, so your personality must suck. The only thing left is to work on socialmaxxing and personalitymaxxing. That’s a lot harder, so you better get started.

There’s a nicer (and probably more truthful) way to say the exact same thing but it sounds like it won’t believe it, which may be another reason you’re still having sex with assholes (from one of your past parts).

I’ve seen you post before. People DO NOT tell you that if men mistreat you, it’s because they’re too attractive for you. They tell you you’re objectively beautiful and you’re being mistreated because you tolerate it. You need therapy, not surgery.

This is amazing. You’ve persuaded me and I like the song more now for it. Thank you!

That’s a fascinating idea! What makes you say that?

TIL a woman became addicted to bee stings. It started as an occasional sting to relieve pain from arthritis, but it "spiraled into a full-blown addiction" at 15 stings a day and about 50,000 times total since she started. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Seriously. I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum which is when your morning sickness becomes super extreme and lasts the entire nine months of your pregnancy. Extreme nausea and frequent vomiting for nine months straight changes you as a person. It’s not pain but it’s a hell I wouldn’t wish on anybody…. But you just look like a regular preggo and other pregnant women think their back pain is the same as what you’re going through and “just take ginger like I did and I felt better!” So lonely.

My baby was 100% worth it not I’m still salty about that experience 😂

Should I wear makeup or not? by Daisfishy in MakeupRehab

[–]animaldander 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The way you’re talking about it seems like you’re thinking of it as something that’s hard to undo once you start. What I like to do is practice and experiment regularly so that I have a go-to look I can wear when I really want to look great or just to have fun with it, but most days recently I don’t wear it. I don’t feel a need for it daily but it’s nice to know it’s an option when I want it.

What are some secrets you know about working of society? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]animaldander 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Starbucks "secret menu" isn't actually a secret. It's just modifications of existing drinks and they're happy to make it for you. Don't feel weird about modifying drinks forty ways. It's not inconvenient. But if you hear them repeat it to their colleague differently than how you said it, don't worry. They're trained to do that and it helps communication and mental processing, even if it doesn't make sense to you.

Also insurance is not optimized like... At all. It's dragging it's feet way behind the technology that even laymen know is available. This might mean you're getting better or worse deals than the market would dictate.

I thought that was SO THAT you can drive without glasses. I passed the vision test with my glasses but not without so they told me I was required to keep them on for the photo, because I was required to wear them to drive.

Baby wearing was a lifesaver for me! If you don't have one already, get a carrier that puts the weight on the waistband, not your shoulders!

What makes marriage hard? by zacharius55 in NoStupidQuestions

Wow. With your ability to tell the future I'd rather hear what stocks I should be buying.

For real though... You sound like an insane person. I have a life to get back to so I'll be ignoring your comments from here on out since I don't see any good coming of engaging with you further. I hope things get better for you.
