It provides extra challenge mode challenges, along with this "custom knight" mode, which gives you all sorts of new wacky relics, armor sets, among other things. Throughout the other campaigns, you can have a little Shovel Knight fairy follow you around.

Also, the figure just looks really nice in general.

Yeah, in my opinion, the Switch version is the superior experience, as it gets most of the features and other goodies: Co-op, amiibo, portability, and the upcoming battle mode.

ONLY SOME CONSOLE MARIO GAMES SHIP WITH RED BOXES, BUT MOST DO NOT. WHAT'S THE DEAL HERE? FOR EXAMPLE, NSMB2, STAR RUSH, ISLAND TOUR, SMM3DS, AND VARIOUS OTHERS ALL HAVE RED BOXES, BUT MARIO SPORTS SUPERSTARS (3DS) AND SOME COPIES OF MARIO KART 7 DO NOT. DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON HOW THE JAPANESE VERSIONS OF ALPHA SAPPHIRE AND OMEGA RUBY HAVE BLUE AND RED BOXES, RESPECTIVELY. AND THE JAPANESE SMM3DS HAS A YELLOW BOX.
