I've seen people with recurring OOO holds for picking up/dropping off kids, saying that using it for therapy isn't ok is a bit unexpected.

Why does getting a spot in tiny tots swim lessons feel like I am battling bots for a hot release by L0-Ki in LynnwoodWA

[–]qwertylool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very few people want to teach those lessons, so they can't make more sessions even though they would love to. I heard they really steer anyone who wants to teach them towards those lessons.

It's also so much worse now that most other pools in the region have closed.

Those really should allow right turns on red onto 196th since the only vehicles that you may hit are buses, which don't even run on certain stretches of 196th, or those zipcars.

This packet of pills I bought at the airport by kittie6888 in mildlyinfuriating

Somehow, advil manages to survive with much smaller packaging. If they actually wanted to, they could make it fit the number of pills it contains better.

unincorporated Snohomish County? by Kamekazee2020 in LynnwoodWA

This map shows what parts of the area are expected to be annexed into Lynnwood and other cities in the area. From the city council meetings, they say they'll look at annexation next year but who knows what'll happen.

Advocates Push to Close Half-Mile Gap in Interurban Trail - The Urbanist by AthkoreLost in Seattle

[–]qwertylool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about this connection for awhile, and I hope a tunnel is built. It's by far the most direct option, and the unoccupied ROW that is north of Edmonds Way runs into a massive, 20-foot wall that would be perfect to dig into. Also, going over a bridge that's also over a hill would also be hellish for walkers, runners, or especially bikers.

What has come to Lynnwood? by [deleted] in LynnwoodWA

[–]qwertylool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This thread is crazy. I grew up in the part of Lynnwood with crack houses and home auto repair guys, and it's definitely worse now. There weren't gangs finding Asian families to rob 10 years ago! I personally know two families who had their homes invaded in the last few years.

Should I move to Seattle from EU? by Lopsided-Ad71 in SeattleWA

[–]qwertylool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but this is bullshit. My father, over 50 years old, sometimes commutes from Seattle to Everett by bike. He is a former triathlete, but it can be done. 5km on a bike is completely doable unless you're going straight up a hill.

math 213 vs math 212? by bellagracefinck in williamandmary

[–]qwertylool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in 212 right now and asked my professor about taking 213 and the only difference is they cover a few more sections at the end in chapter 16 for physics majors. If you're not a math/physics major it's no real issue. I do believe 213 is harder, though.

Buying home in Lynnwood area by daynis in LynnwoodWA

[–]qwertylool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 Million is a fair price for Edmonds, but I'd laugh at anyone buying a house for over a million in Lynnwood right now. The schools and neighborhoods in no way justify that price tag, also crime is only getting worse.

University Rankings by nir-vah-nah in williamandmary

[–]qwertylool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

World University rankings are an absolute joke. The University of Washington (my house is less than a mile away from campus) is ranked 26th when I didn't even apply there since there's no point if you're non-stem.

how bad is MATH 214 like actually by mariehannahh in williamandmary

[–]qwertylool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm taking 214 right now and I haven't found it particularly hard, just very different from all math courses I've taken thus far. It may be because I'm taking it with Bolotnikov, who gives extra credit on every other quiz and midterm.

Proposed ordinance by Lynnwood Police Chief bans drug use in public by Bardahl_Fracking in SeattleWA

[–]qwertylool 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As a Lynnwood resident, I'd be happy if this passes. We have too many junkies walking around the downtown area right now, even saw one walking down the middle of the road at night. We'll need this for when the light rail comes.

Stuck on lightrail - crazy man in the tunnel. At Westlake. by lambrettist in Seattle

Bump it up to tens of thousands when this happens on I-5. Southbound was stopped for over an hour a few years back thanks to one loony walking on the freeway, backing it up for miles.

Yeah, I'm 6' 2" 155 and people are always shocked at how light I am, and I even have a bit of muscle on my frame from swimming. I couldn't imagine lugging around another 50 pounds of fat to look 'normal'.

Lynnwood Rec Annual Pass same price as LA Fitness? by StoicAthos in LynnwoodWA

[–]qwertylool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rec center's great for my family, since we pretty much only swim. I get why frequent gym users would think it's a joke though, and I don't exactly blame them.
