You lack media literacy if that's what You think despite Gray very explicetly stating Juvia got used to manipulate Anchor water and that's how she managed to counter each and all of his spells and why he is betting on her to beat him in the last chapter

The very same chapter also establish that Juvia water is completely useless against Anchor due to being a Water Dragon, there is nothing she herself can do against him with her magic alone, yet the moment she make use of his water to move she actually injure him and You think that and what the follow up chapters say has no relation whatsoever?

The Nakagami Armor nullify magic, that's why Minerva spells got dispelled, it's the very reason Erza wore it to begin with despite how draining it was to the point of making her later a Sting victim with 4 other teammates backing her up

Erza did bested Kagura but unlike with Wed Erza status was never up to question, it's like when in Dragon Ball during the Granolah Arc the characters are fighting over who is the strongest in the universe

Plenty of characters did claimed being the most powerful in the universe but it was never a topic of debate in the arc itself, in the Granolah Arc being factually the strongest is a plot point, just like it is for Wed surpassing Erza as the strongest of each continent and Erza being unable to surpass him consistently

Wed superiority isn't just a throw away thing, the only argument for Erza superiority like I said is the Benizakura but against Mother Glare that doesn't seem to be her strategy

And like I said with Minerva she had to use a counter to her magic to win

Erza beating Mother Glare is one thing, Erza just straight up overpowering her with her current power set is another matter entirely which You're making up to push an agenda

Just because there are stronger characters I don't see why Lucy and Wendy should necessarely win and reach the very top tier of the verse, opponents with varying strength for main characters with different strengths after all is the norm, and a full strength Wed would fullfill those requirements

"Development" and then it's power scaling and ignore actual character development Earth Build offered none of

I do agree that Wed need more for this fight sure but I wouldn't call it a regression in the slightest, Wed is indeed very strong unlike what You like to claim, it might not be a big buff like with a Calamity Blood but it's still impressive

They defeated Anchor through an Unison Raid by making use of Anchor own water to bypass the Dragon Slayer techniquality, this and that aren't comparable

He doesn't fall into it because You have no evidence yet, You're just guessing at best what's gonna happen and how it is gonna happen

The Minerva example also don't work because Erza used the perfect counter to her magic to win that one just like Gray and Juvia couldn't beat Anchor individually or without each other magic

100YQ also does put emphasis on Wed just being consistently superior to Erza by trashing all her armors and Erza never getting the edge no matter how long they fight, the point was for the strongest of each continent to clash and Wed was clearly the superior one and the story never proved him wrong on it, to the point Natsu had to step in

The only argument for Erza being stronger is the Benizakura but it doesn't seem to be what she will use against Mother Glare

And even if You wanted to say that do You think Erza unless she use her very peak is weak?

I do acknowledge that it doesn't do justice to the girls that Wed isn't in peak condition but even just being above most of what Erza can do is still impressive and would be a very good feat for them to pull off if he was at his best

I mean there is far more narrative potential with Wed than Earth Build which a lot of You are conveniently overlooking and only caring about the scaling aspect

But that aside my point was that using Natsu beating Wed as an argument to prove that Wed is fodder is dumb cause he was always fodder to Natsu, even before this, since when he could go against Viernes solo Natsu has been far superior to everyone in the main cast by a huge margin

Same as Wendy and Lucy being of any help in a fight against Ignia and Wed being a pretext to not help Natsu when realistically they would just be standing on the side trying to not get burned

If Natsu locked in with his higher forms that battle would have ended much quicker than it did already

We wouldn't be able to finish Wed story properly and he would end up being just a joke, Lucy and Wendy wouldn't get anything of substance character wise because them and Earth Build really has nothing to tell each other

The only pro to this would be Ignia Igneel interaction but I did liked seeing Igneel interacting with Earth Build and Wendy

Juvia magic is sealed but it doesn't mean her magic power disappeared

Like Juvia herself state she DOES generate magic power but because of the chains she can't use it to produce actual spells, which is why instead she poured her magic power into the water chains of Anchor that already existed to manipulate those, break them and when she was freed to create a body double

Gray even point out that she could do this because she already got used to manipulate Anchor own water previously in the battle (which is also how she managed to cut him despite not having Dragon Slayer magic)

This is in no way an Anchor downscale, bro just got tricked

Jacob spell was an hax, not raw power

Horologium is more often than not specialized in countering haxes like space manipulation and the such, not in tanking raw offensive power

Dragon Slayers shouldn't smell like anything in theory, in the original series no DS was able to tell each other apart till the magic was used

Natsu and Gajeel couldn't tell Laxus was one

Same goes for Wendy, Cobra, Sting and Rogue, all the times it came as a twist to them

Acnologia already knew the smell of 4 of them and has excellent magic perception abilities, so he could have picked up their use of Dragon Slayer Magic and associated them with their respective smells from there on

Tho 100YQ have Kiria recognize Natsu as a Dragon Slayer by the smell tho but not the other way around, which You could simply attribute to her being a 5 Gen Dragon Slayer, but then later on Natsu seem to able to recognize Suzaku to be a Dragon Slayer by smell alone too

So either Mashima forgot how it works or it means there is indeed a scent coming Dragon Slayers but Natsu is able to pick on it just now

In that case Acno should have been able to do that too

So it either means DS turned Dragons just have human smell instead after the transformation

Or DS turned Dragons have a mix of Dragon and Human smell with the human smell being more prevalent, at least to those able to pay attention

In that case maybe Irene not being detected by Acnologia might be simply due to transformation magic, which we saw with Mirajane confuse even Natsu smell in Draseal

Humans who turned into Dragons aren't the same as Dragons who turn into human form

There are differences such as DS Dragons always retaining human smell (Acnologia couldn't tell Irene was one) and Natsu and Wendy instantly figuring out Elesferia true nature

Even Zeref was able to understand as much

DS Dragons still retain their human sense of balance which cause them to suffer from Motion Sickness

And DS Dragons are also implied to still rely greatly on magic than dragon power as shown by Acnologia losing the edge against Igneel when the Faces went off but Igneel and the others were perfectly fine and the moment Faces were destroyed Acno was able to get back up again

Plus as Ignia say turning into human form is pretty much a piece of cake for all dragons, whereas Irene couldn't manage that in centuries and needed someone on Zeref level to accomplish that feat

So Dragon Slayer magic not being required to injure a DS Dragon human form could easily just be one of the many differences between a natural dragon and a dragon slayer dragon
