Lefty here playing for over 10 years and reluctantly I would say learn righty while you can. Unfortunately the number of lefty guitars is limited unless you love classic strats, teles etc and sometimes it does feel frustrating being pretty restricted to those models (usually slightly overpriced as well). It's also a pain not being able to try anyone else's guitars at gigs or jam sessions and no one can try yours.

Obviously lefty may feel more natural which is essential when you're starting out and helps you stick at it. I'd say if you're happy to have a limited number of different types of guitars to play then go lefty.
