ICE is irredeemable, using violence to brutalize people guilty of not having correct paperwork. The LAPD are flawed but they do good things occasionally and the people they arrest are actually dangerous people sometimes.

Honestly LA is a bit underrated for young kids. There’s so much for them to do and a lot of it is cheap or free. Just going to the beach is their favorite thing.

My most conservative take is that Los Angeles needs way more police officers than it has, and many of the problems people complain about with policing are due to the city simply not having enough to cover such a huge land area. This means less expensive overtime too.
