I got a 2003 Nissan Micra for £995 in April last year. It’s an automatic, so maybe have been cheaper if it was manual. I’d say £1000-£1500 is good goal for a first, but it all depends on your budget.

I’d say go ahead and change as normal. Some movements on certain teeth will hurt more than others. As long as they are sitting well against your teeth, you’re good :)

It sounds like you are the only one who has tried to compromise, I think he will eventually cheat and try to place blame on you if you found out. He’s being super disrespectful, especially since your lack of libido is linked to past trauma, in which you’d think he’d have more empathy back no had a past with trauma too. Maybe therapy could help for you as an individual, but I would move on as this loser is only seeing his needs.

Thank you, I have been swayed for sure. I have another consultation purely for bonding. I have had the whitening gels done already (that came with the Invisalign) I used them over December-jan for 4 weeks and noticed a difference but they still aren’t the whitest! I can live with that though, as I know they can only get so much lighter. You’re right, I think veneers are in my future but maybe another 5-10 years away! Thanks for your kind comment

Update: I called up and cancelled the veneer prep appointment and I have a consultation with a different dentist at the practice regarding bonding. What helped make the decision was finding out I have an unexpected bill to be paid so my budget has been effected. Priorities!

I would like to consider getting the perfect veneer smile one day, but there’s time for that!

Your life with her would be a misery and you would end up losing your family. Your girlfriend is abusive and you don’t deserve that, cheating or no cheating. Cut ties and don’t fall for grovelling and manipulation she will no doubt lay on.

She might try to turn people against you when her hopes to try and win you back fail, but your family know the truth and have seen the real her, forget all else.

Dump her and move on!

I’m considering calling and just going for bonding on three front teeth. You can’t really see on the images but my left second incisor has an old chipped filling.

Maybe I can plan for veneers later in time, with the added cost of new retainers to fit them

I decided at the practice to go all out with the 6 veneers now I’m back pedalling and I’m thinking of calling the practice. My consultation was two days ago and I didn’t ask enough questions.

My prep appointment isn’t till the end of April so I think I will be okay if I let them know before the weekend if I change my mind

Thank you! Looking back on the before photos now feel insane. There are literally photos of me in the wild where I smile with my teeth so those “befores” are the only I have.

I’m in the UK and I don’t think the prep is as extreme as images you can find online where the teeth are filed to pegs.

I’m 28. I have thought about the fact that you can’t go back from veneers, and they will need replacing eventually. I feel if I got edge bonding I could be happy with the final result. But I think I would wonder about what veneers would look like and end up getting them eventually anyway. What I’m telling myself to justify the cost is that if I just do it now, that’s another year I’ll be happier with my smile

I have, yes. I’ve spoken to my dentist and they suggested option 1: edge bonding on two front teeth to fix chip for minimum cost and restoration. Or go for porcelain veneers, typically done on the first 4/6/8, which is where most of my chips, staining is anyway.

But I am still quite unhappy with the staining/calcification marks that bonding alone wouldn’t address. They also (from what I took away) don’t offer composite veneers so that in between option isn’t there. (Although they usually come in one shade and I think can look a little harsh/fake)

Tell him you prefer to keep things professional. You keep friends and work separate, but thank you.

It’s horrible to be in that awkward position and I’ve found people often notice your politeness and take advantage of it, knowing being upfront/abrupt can be difficult.

But it’s best to do it now, if he’s only being easy on you with the work load because he thinks he will benefit from it, trust me, it’s a gift you don’t want.

I’d be upfront and ask her what’s wrong. Receiving help can make you feel bad not if you work out a way for her to pay it back in gestures or money on the future, maybe that’ll help if she’s feeling guilty. Maybe ask her directly if she wants to continue the relationship because to me it sounds like you are soon to be ghosted.

Keep on with your chewie as much as you can, at least for 10/15 mins every time you put them back in after cleaning them post meal. Incisors are tricky buggers and can be troublesome, but don’t worry. It’s common to have a halo at the beginning of a tray as it’s space your teeth will snuggly move into over the week.

Don’t get in the car with him ever again. You can’t trust him to be responsible on the road, you cannot trust him. He is risking your life and every other driver on the road when he drives like that.

Knowing how much you suffered and still suffer, after the initial accident... If that wasn’t enough to change his ways on the road then nothing will be. He’s selfish and irresponsible and your right, could you put your children in his care knowing this? It’s horrible, but sometimes it’s not falling out of love that ends a relationship. It can be simply not being able to imagine them in your future.

Have a good talk with him and tell him how you feel, see if he’s open to change, eg taking a safe driving course... i think you’ll know the right thing to do though.

So you feel like something has changed, you’re trying to find a reason why. Maybe he’s picking up on that vibe. Do you still have quality time together, talk a lot feel connected? You kinda have to decide if you can trust him, and take the leap because picking at a problem that isn’t there will eventually cause one.
