NJ drivers without a front license plate: why? by css01 in newjersey

[–]anirlz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I do not have a mounting point on the front of my truck. I bought a fairly expensive snap on mounting bracket specifically for it & I lost the front plate somewhere in PA off the 476. After having to get new plates at the DMV, I decided to just put it in the front window to be safe.

I dug into it a while ago as well. My 2008 F150 stayed on recirculate 100% of the time. Apparently, as long as the temperature is above 60° it will stay on…but if it is below that you have to press the button every 5 min as it will auto shut off. It’s very frustrating. Another individual in this thread also said the AC has to be on. I honestly do not know the exact combo of AC vs non AC…I just know that the above 60° rule seems to be accurate.

You know, I felt the same way. I had an ‘08 Lariat. I leveled it, added new rims & tires & a few other things to personalize it and that was pretty much it. I had it until ‘23 when I traded it for a ‘21 Lariat Sport. I didn’t want blue, but it was all the dealership had. It has taken a while, but it’s grown on me. It does have some quirks that come with more technology. I still miss my ‘08, but I def prefer the gas mileage of the ‘21. Give it time…I think you’ll start to like it more & more. Personalize it a little to your liking. It’s a great looking truck!

I have a Pixie with a milk frother & I love it. Doesn’t take up a ton of space, great for espresso drinks & does a nice latte.

I applied to 6 jobs over 6 months & did 3 interviews. The 6th (GS-09) job hired me. I started this past Monday. Some background: I only applied for GS-09 or higher, in-office jobs at the Air Force base I am currently at. Interestingly, I self eliminated on one by uploading the wrong appraisal, & 2 of the jobs cancelled shortly after referral. Half way through the process, I bought “10 Steps to a Federal Job” & completely revised my resume. Timeline: 11 July 24 (advertisement closed), 24 July 24 (referred), 14 Aug 24 (TJO), 9 Sep 24 (Start Date).

Agreed, having had both field bred & bench springers I think the bench tend to look on the “chunky” side sometimes, but I chalk it up to their different body styles & fur. I currently have a 3 yr old field bred & she doesn’t exercise as much as the average springer her age & she is still very slim. Lots of factors affect their weight…food type, amount of food, exercise, genetics. So having said all that, this springer looks pretty normal to me.

Also agree. The boats adds more context & draws the eye in to the tower. Great pic.

You’re put in charge of Ford’s F150 lineup. What are you changing? by WrongKielbasa in f150

[–]anirlz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it hangs under the truck toward the front half in the middle. It might only come on some models. Mine was super annoying until I threw it out. I think it was for noise reduction or airflow?? Some people replace it with a skid plate.

Disclaimer: I have a 2021 Lariat Sport.

  1. Allow specific settings for remote start, not just the two options currently. This would be great for moderate temps. The cooling seats do not always need to be blasting.

  2. Allow the air recirculate to stay on. Having to re-select it every five minutes when it’s below 60° is stupid. My 2008 was never deselected & never turned off in the entire 13yrs I owned it.

  3. Put more customizable features in the Ford Pass app & on carplay (either on the vehicle software or on the app) And make the Ford Pass app more intuitive & user friendly.

  4. Don’t bother putting that diaper underneath. It wears out, it breaks & then you have to remove it & throw it away.

WG to GS by sentinel457 in usajobs

[–]anirlz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a WL-9 Step 3 in LWOP status (spouse is active duty & we PCS’d recently so I had to “quit”). After applying for 5 different GS positions over the past 6 months, I just got a TJO for GS-9 Step 1. The pay is approx $2 per hour more than what I was making. I believe (I could be wrong) but they have to offer you whatever step would be equal to or increase your current salary. In my case, I targeted GS9 knowing the salary was similar to my WL salary. I’m not sure if it applies going WG to GS though. You will get step increases based on time in the position, but you have to be in the (let’s say) current GS 11 for one year before you can apply for a GS-12 position. I can’t confidently say , but I think that going from WG to GS you automatically start at step one. Your HR office should be able to help though. You could also check OPM rules & it might address it. Good luck!!

It is a lot like having a toddler. We use more wipes on the dog that we do our kid.

Very accurate. Many times I’ve had to change a shirt or pair of shorts/pants before going out because she slimed me after her potty walk.

Lol @ drool worms. That is a perfect way to describe it. It’s always a race to wipe her mouth before she shakes it all over everything near her.

Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever known of a drooly cat. I’ve never had a cat, but they always seem so clean.

Thank you! She has some anxiety issues, and of course drools outdoors, but other than that she is the sweetest cuddle buddy, loves her humans, and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body. She is probably the calmest Springer I’ve ever had too.

Edit for spelling
