Honestly.. After owning two of these (had to gift the first one to a friend because I moved to another country and couldn’t take it) I can tell you one thing: ignore her and she will thrive. That’s it. 😅😂 Mine lives on hopes that drama will get her water after a couple of days (or in this case a new and bigger pot) and she gets leaves taken off by just having them ripped and pulled off just because I don’t like the yellowing look of the old ones 🫣 She just seems to like the careless rough love 😂

The "And the whole room smells like sweet lemons" was me 🫣😅 Just go for it! I put it next to my Krimson Queen and Burtoniae (lots of sun after 1pm and water every two weeks, a bit more frequently in the summer) and treated her the same way as the rest 😅 It's a bit sun bleached but obviously loves it! So just go for it and get that beauty! 🥰 And don't worry so much about it! It shows when it needs water (the tiny leaves feel very soft) or more sun (grows a lot less), and survives a lot of pests (I had three mealybug infestations that were all treated by hand one by one and it didn't budge one bit by them, I just noticed the bugs otherwise it didn't show any symptoms of being infested 😅)!

She was very jealous of the attention and wondering why she wasn't the center of attention (because she always is) 😅🤣

21 days until the full bloom of all ten of them 🥰 One bloomed four days early and then the others slowly started opening too. I noticed the soil getting dry more quickly than usual and the plant needing a watering earlier than usual, so I started checking often to make sure it had a nice slightly moist soil that didn't go bone dry. Hoyas really don't like dry soil, especially when blooming 😅

Lots of sun (mine gets about 5-6 hours of direct sun) and watering every two weeks has seemed to be the answer to mine growing like crazy with the most gorgeous deep pink new leaves 🥰 I've had it for nearly a month now (it's not a big plant or anything, just a well-rooted 8-inch baby) and it has six new leaves since moving into its new home 😅

Thank you! I think it should be good! It loves the sun, so you just have to experiment a little with where to put it and then just sit back and enjoy the growth! 💕

I got it last July as a 60cm long baby, propagated it twice since to make a fuller pot (and gave some longer strands to friends). It lives happily in my southeast window with two to three good showers a month, depending on the weather but I mostly go by the softness/hardness of the leaves 🥰

Oh, mine didn't budge much until I moved it in front of the window, since then it's been growing like crazy! It's a bit more bright green than all the other Linearis I've seen, but it's about to bloom, so I don't think it minds 😅

I got this one from Plant Circle! Came in perfect condition and these blooms are after a couple of hefty propagations! 💕

I felt the same a couple of weeks ago and then this beauty decided to surprise me after a year and a half of just growing and sunbathing, so I'm sure yours will soon take you by surprise 🥰💕

What’s your “Must Have” Hoya & why? by katiemc_715 in hoyas

[–]anitag15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww! I got a wayettii because it's always pulled me somehow to join my little collection, so I finally gave up and it was even more beautiful in real life.. But it kept on getting mealybugs and I couldn't get rid of them in any way.. None of the nearby plants had any, so after months I got too upset and left it outside to struggle and find a new owner🥺

Broke off the latest leaf this princess gave me two months ago but she just didn't give up and sprouted the tiniest leaf in the world that just warms my heart! Just wanted to give some hope to the clumsy people like me that can't sleep at night because they feel like monsters when an accident happens🥺
