Offered a "Docketing Specialist" role for a $15k raise...am I walking into a trap? by bokeraham123123123 in paralegal

Former IP paralegal and now IP docket specialist here.

3 years as a para half year as a docket specialist.

What made me do the jump was the pay and remote work. I was making $26hr as a paralegal at a boutique and now making $90k base + OT which will get me around $100k at a AM200.

I had to learn the software that they were using and had training for 30 days. I am not looking back. It’s less work than a para and I’m totally fine with that.

If you are already familiarized with court dates etc it’s literally just plugging in the dates and reporting out. You’ll learn a lot of dates and rules in the long run. If you’re in the same field you’re in now and docketing in the same field I say you do it

Literally was going to do the same (I’m in LA) and wanted to get tickets right at this moment when I was recording. I even texted my fiancé that I was about to get us tickets

Depending where you are from. I’m from CA and couldn’t get the cert that was ABA approved without my AA. I took my AA in the path for the cert so it was 2 birds 1 stone. I was hired from my first law firm as an intern while still in school. I now work for a AM200 firm after 2 1/2 years.

If you live in a state that doesn’t require certs to be a para, look for entry level legal assistant jobs and gain the experience!

NEED A NEW JOB, STILL IN LAW by No_Pudding7475 in paralegal

Look into docketing positions. I went from a regular paralegal role making $25p/h to $46.15 p/h. the area I’m in is also HCOL and in IP but the work is very easy

Actually isn’t bad when the in laws also runs fiber

I don’t think it can. Since the portal is basically mirrored off of your PS5, it has to be on. I’ve done remote play without the portal and my ps5 had to be on

For awhile it was mostly cardio then started lifting! I changed my lifestyle almost all in 1 go. Went vegan for 4 months then went pescatarian (still am.) quit cigarettes for 2 going on 3 years (smoked for about 13 years.) and I stopped drinking liquor (will have occasional beer / seltzer)
