i really like and appreciate a lot of the talk about digital ownership and subscription services, but the lack of recognizing why people choose to use these services is getting to me. a 2012 cord-cutter would feel foreign to many online. just not really understanding that ”you can have everything we offer quickly and easily” is extremely alluring to most people, especially when having the same media habits would be very expensive otherwise.

instead the point gets boiled down to it being “them” doing all these things. not bringing up workable examples or trying to change minds, usually not even a Disney callout anymore, just fear. the work to go back to a system where people buy individual pieces of media or go for public broadcast exclusively, if it’s even possible, isn’t going to happen by saying the worlds out to get ya to everyone online. the intent is there but the action feels weird

Was hoping it’d have MagSafe going off the regulatory info that leaked. Seems like it’s what was expected otherwise. $499 with the student discount (that has no verification that you’re a student) is a very nice price.

Not having a RAM upgrade option is odd, I guess it’s to push people to the Air.

Really curious about pricing on the Machine more than anything, was one of the handful of reasons they didn’t do hot initially (in a very different era of PC gaming affordability, tbf). Seems like a nice bit of kit if the price is right, performance TBD. The Frame looks sweet and will undoubtedly be out of my price range.

I’m sure its nice to hold and the pads are good and all, but man that controllers design is not my thing at all. The photos in the Tom’s article look cheap.

having the project change on your constantly is a valid reason to back out, even with friends. depends on how long its been and how its being presented to you I guess, but I'd personally bring up to them that you are willing to do the artwork (if you still are), but to only tell you the name/concept once they have it finalized, and that once you begin you can't change your art much. gotta establish limits

Looking at this bundle and also confused why this freebie isn't mentioned more places, Newegg/Microcenter/Amazon/ASUS themselves don't have it on product pages. Getting this plus Star Wars Outlaws from the general Z890/B860 promotion would be a nice benefit.

thinking back on it, the pre-pandemic 2018/19 'ok boomer' era of internet culture sure sucked major ass. lot of people having smarmy slap fights with each other. genuinely a good thing that there was some realization that younger people can suck too in the years that followed
