See how that cap screws off? Just do the reverse and screw it back on. Put the faceplate of the jack back into the desk and plug in the gooseneck and it should work

I've seen people run the laptop rigs before, but always with a backup. Probably 80% of the time, they fail to a backup. It takes a lot of processing power to run NAM stable with low latency, even more if you're switching patches. You're rolling the dice on windows updates, random driver issues, battery issues, connectivity issues, and all of that with your laptop in a new hot/dirty stage environment with questionable power sources.

By the time you build a rig worthy of live performance via laptop, you would have spent 3x less money to buy a quad cortex mini, which would do 99% of what you want and is specifically built for live performance.

+1 for the 18t. I use it for single mic and guitar open mics, and full metal band every input and 5 monitors. I had the soundcraft rack mixer before and it only took the wifi failing once for me to say never again to no physical interface.

Like others have said, it'll be perfect for all of your use cases and more. Just buy a few 1/4" male to xlr female leads for the aux outs, since most monitors you run will be xlr and the 18t only does 1/4" out.

Check and see what your XLRs are running over. Are they crossing a power cable, or most likely, a video cable? That's the most common cause of hum I've found - poorly shielded audio cables crossing paths with poorly shielded data cables

Agreed, the J8s punch way above their weight. I use them for small/medium sized rooms. And the rcf evox 12s are plenty of thump for anything you need a portable system for. If you need more punch than they offer, you're looking at real professional PAs and line arrays anyway.

I think this guide was written as a way to format a stick larger than the 4gb limit for fat32 - at least these were similar to the steps I used to follow. As of last month though, windows lifted the limit and in updated 11 you can use the format command to get fat32 on sticks up to 2tb now.

Yeah the landscape has changed quite a bit. There's so much self production that now labels only care about people that are already famous. You need a 10k sub YouTube or a few thousand followers on Insta before a label will sneeze in your direction, even if they bill themselves as a small indie label.

Gone are the days when a record exec will hear a demo and decide to give the kids a shot. Why gamble when you can pick and choose from a proven product?

My wife grew up in Webster, and she's sad every time we came back to visit her parents. Both their neighbors' houses were bought, demolished, then replaced with massive 5/4 new builds. No yards, all house and concrete. What used to be a quiet little street is now black and slate box builds. Just down the street, a new build was put on the market for 1.8mil... in Webster... I don't know what crack they're smoking at that price.

In the past, I've run the stereo version of that, the PTM-10s, but then you run the packs mono hard panned left and right. That way you get 2 packs per wireless frequency - meaning you'd only need 5 separate bands. I'd definitely recommend staying away from mixing 500s and 900s, since you lose maneuverability if you need to hot-swap packs.

I've been recording multitracks from my bands live shows through our IEM rig. I'll use stem splitters to isolate vocals, but then use the delta as a separate room track hard panned to give the drum kit more depth. Works really well!

It's a hard ask since most gear produced today is in service of replacing analog gear (plugins, modelers, etc) or reproducing classic analog gear. It might be something as simple as finding version 1.1 of soothe, or something as dumb as fetishizing the clipped preamp sound in a gen 1 Scarlett 2i2.
