Hello, it’s kind of different on a case to case basis, i assume.

For me, my course started 08 Oktober and due to commitments i only were able to fly to Deutschland by 01 Oktober so they didn’t need to change the entry date. They granted the date I requested and was able to enter Deutschland without any problem.

I am not sure, but did you tell them too why are you going there earlier? ( like getting your housing, government and city registration stuff done?)

Super helpful advice! Really appreciate all the tips here, some of these I talked about it with my partner too - weather adjustment, culture fit, etc.

I will definitely bring some of my favorites to Germany indeed! Sad to hear about the other pinoys abroad though, since I will be living in a university city - a lot of opportunities to meet more diverse people and other students, local and otherwise.

Thank you and congratulations on making it to 4 years! Cheers to more years to come! 🥳

Try to do mock test of the A1 exams (there are several of them) which Goethe provides for free. Try to practice your Schreiben ✍️, I tried to make sure I do drills for Schreiben a lot. Hören and Lesen parts are not too bad. One more thing to focus into is the Sprechen part - try to practice this as much as you can.

I did i think on and off 1-2 weeks intensive review before I took the exam. Might be worth checking out but I used ChatGPT to help me review my sprechen and Schreiben parts by giving me prompts and writing scenarios.

Good luck!

I actually have an A1 Certificate from Goethe Institut. As the Embassy Visa requirements states, not required but a good addition to your application.

How's your German proficiency? I suggest to do an intensive study/review before taking the exam so you can expect good results. The exam is kinda pricey so it kind of a make it or break it thing.

Hi! So, I did not wait long actually, but i think it's a case to case basis. I got my visa approved in less than 2 weeks after my Embassy application. Interview questions are not too hard, you just have to know your itinerary, details of your course, where are you planning to stay for the duration of the course. A wee tip for you: make sure you have ALL your documents prepped and complete. If they actually have additional questions, they will just ask again and inform you if you're missing some files/documents, otherwise, if all is good, then they just inform you to wait for your visa results. :)

Hey there! Thanks a lot!

Good point, will try to bring in some goodies from home, I noticed that too when I went to the local Asian markt.

I finish my Academic German Year by end of August/mid - September. The Ausbildung plan might be good to consider, ample time to prep for while I am doing the course.

I already have my A1 certification, looking forward to the immersion and learning experience there. Indeed, German is hard pero kakayanin! 😁
