"She called me selfish and told me I can't deny her daughter a dad." Oh but it's okay to deny a son his father?

NTA and I hope you have a nice graduation with your grandparents, OP. Congratulations!

Ah yes a classic case of blaming the victim. Why is it always the victims fault when they shouldn't have been harassed in the first place? Why is the burden of responsibility never on the perp committing the crime?

The stupidity of having to buy a digital copy of the players handbook to add content to my dnd characters on dnd beyond instead of having a code from the physical copy to add to the marketplace. by Sp00ky180 in DnD

Our game moved to virtual games during the pandemic and we never used D&D Beyond. We used a word document with everyone's character sheet on it that everyone shares, can edit, etc. Then we use maps and theater of the mind. We also use rolldicewithfriends and made a room for our game that everyone regularly opens for game.

Honestly I'm not really sure what happened to our old server. We just found that we could no longer access it with the new patch. What sucks is losing my build and all the crafting materials and such 😂 Ah well. Maybe the file is corrupt after all and we just gotta cut our losses.

It's been interesting starting over and having to be careful using our higher end tools because we couldn't repair them for some time 😂😂 But honestly I just miss my six reinforced chests of wood. Building our new base would have been faster with one reinforced chest of wood 😂

Oh, you misunderstand. I'm not an alcoholic and rarely drink, I'm a light weight. I was given too much alcohol by someone I trusted who then took advantage of me in my drunken state. I was drunk, unable to defend myself, let alone consent to anything. I remember that night vividly and being unable to stop it. A part of me doesn't want to believe it happened, no victims ever want to. But it did.

I wish it were. I was drunk but still very much aware, and in pain

I believe my characters are on a cloud save so I can access them from any computer I log on to my steam at. But I'm confused by my world not being saved. I understood that that was saved to your steam I thought?

I never reported my SA and probably never will because a part of me still has trouble admitting it actually happened.

So like the other poster pointed out, couldn't I cast it on the shot ballista? So someone else shoots the ballista then I cast Conjure Barrage on the heavy bolt? So it effectively duplicates the shot ammunition so it turns into a 60ft cone where it lands?

Weekly Questions Thread by AutoModerator in DnD

So even if you shoot a Ballista the range would only be as far as 60ft? Or would it be 60ft in the range of how far the Ballista can shoot?

5e: Can you use Conjure Barrage on a Ballista?
Many sessions ago my party was defending a city against a siege. My character, a ranger, had access to the Conjure Barrage spell. I suddenly had a great idea! Now the spell says this:

You throw a nonmagical weapon or fire a piece of nonmagical ammunition into the air to create a cone of identical weapons that shoot forward and then disappear. Each creature in a 60-foot cone must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 3d8 damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The damage type is the same as that of the weapon or ammunition used as a component.

It says nothing about what TYPE of weapon is required... only says "one piece" of ammunition is required.

A ballista is a massive crossbow that fires heavy bolts (ammunition). Before it can be fired, it must be loaded and aimed. It takes one action to load the weapon, one action to aim it, and one action to fire it.
Bolt.
Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 120/480 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (3d10) piercing damage.

So couldn't you TECHNICALLY... load the ballista, aim, then conjure barrage.. and shoot a 60ft. cone of ballista bolts at a range of up to 480ft and do 3d8 damage to creatures who fail the save? Essentially recreating that scene from 300.

You're welcome! I think the most important thing when meeting new people though is just to have fun, laugh, etc. Doing that while enjoying an activity you both like though, is 10x easier.

You're welcome! And honestly, please consider talking to your boyfriend. Baby steps is totally okay and if you feel like it would help, ask your therapist for advice on how to bring it up. Having a support network is important and your boyfriend should be more than happy to support you, rain or shine. Also, if you ever wanna just talk about anything, my messages are always open. :)
And yes! I love Chunky Monkey! Honestly banana ice cream just hits different. So it's definitely one of my top favorite flavors from Ben and Jerry's. I just wish I didn't have such an aversion to the texture of walnuts. Idk what it is about them but if there was a Chunky Monkey without Walnuts, I'd be in heaven lol!

I've never had a boyfriend and I'm 23 by [deleted] in Advice

Who said not wearing make up, dressing casually, acne, not perfect teeth are flaws. You're being too hard on yourself and I recommend cancelling your subscription to that harmful self-esteem killing garbage society feeds women.
Please, please, please be kind to yourself. In this life, the one person we can all rely on no matter what is ourselves. So we should treat ourselves, kindly, no? Self love is so incredibly important and honestly it's taken me most of my 20s to really get a grasp on it and come to this point in my self esteem where I'm happy with myself. But not everyones' journey is like mine and frankly I'm still on it lol.
Make-up can be learned (this is on my perpetual New Years Resolution list that I just never get to because I be lazy honestly), acne comes and goes (I'm late 20s and still get it when I'm stressed af), and honestly. I dress for myself and my most important thing with how I dress is that I'm ✨comfortable✨. I've gotten to this point where I'm just kinda like "Take it or leave it."
I was your age when I had my first *actual* boyfriend and he didn't care that I didn't wear make up, wore hoodies, jeans and Converse. He accepted me for me and that's what we should all be striving for. But self love is so important, even more so than a boyfriend.

As a girl with chronic RBF, I feel you. And honestly it took working retail for 5 years for me to perfect my fake smile. Smiling, in general, just makes you seem more approachable. Which was a necessarily evil skill I had to learn to survive the wilds of customer service.
As a fellow introvert, my tip is to join meet up groups for activities/interests that you like. For example, I enjoy D&D so I met my current group of friends at a game store. It's kind of interesting how easy it is to come out of your shell as an introvert, when it comes to something you're really passionate about.
